question about babysitting

Dear all my friends in big lot
i missed you all so much and missed all your discutions.
i am having a question about babysitting and hope you can help me as usual.
a friend of mine brought me a job to help me and the job of cource from the title is babysitting.
the father is a post Doc and his wife is working 3 days a week from 9 to 9.
she asked me to babysit her 7 month old for her but i don't know is it a good deal or not and how much should i asked for also my friend told me that baby is already in an expenssive day care and the only probleme that the day care close at 8 and they need 3 more hours.
can you help me talkig that decisions?

I have not had children in daycare for a long time, so I do not what the going rate is. I would at least like to ask minimum wage, if I were you. Then you need to check and see if you are doing child care in their home or in yours. The other thing is that you need to make sure that they are taking care of social security and income tax for you. That is the law, if you are in their home. It could be a really good deal for you, if you like to take care of infants.
