If you belive we are in a recession (some debate), how are you positioning yourself to make the ebb and flow of economic fortunes just interesting news articles. There is a way, I do the 30, 20, 20, 20 , 10 program. 30 percent of expendable income in long term. 20% in mid-term. 20% in market. 20% in quick converts like money market. And then 10% in short-term or save for Vacation/Christmas. That is my plan...what is your?

I don't have a real plan right now. When I get paid, it goes into a savings account by direct deposit and I only pull out what I need. I have money in another bank in America (right now I am in China) and I only pull that out when needed (like when I was on vacation or if I want to buy something online). I don't have a lot saved in China right now because I spent it all on a vacation. Before I went on vacation, I had three month's pay in the bank. Now I am waiting for the 15th.
