Sweetened Condensed Milk

Does anyone eat this stuff straight instead of putting it into a recipe. I was using it to make some candy and I had a lot left over, so I decided to drink a little of it. It's so good! I might just buy a can and drink it as a treat (except that it's high in sugar and calories).
Does anyone else like this stuff by itself?

I used to love having rice, milk, and sugar and that's a treat in and of itself. But, that really sounds good with sweetened condensed milk in it.

The way you describe it.. it would not be a good taste to me, to eat it...

I guess if you don't like sweet things or milk products, it probably won't taste good. I love it, it's sweet and smooth and creamy.

Hi Rozie! I think I have used it for icing on a cake, but most recently I used it to make popcorn balls and caramel.

I don't think I've made the ones with nuts, yet. I just made the caramel ones.

You know what's funny is that my mom used to use this all the time and I remember tasting it, but I never thought of just eating it straight probably because it's expensive.

I can not say that I have ever tried drinking or even tasting (for that matter) sweetened condensed milk - I do use it occasionally in baked goods, but the left overs - if there is enough I will place in a small jar and freeze for another date - or in a small ziplock baggy.
I have a bit of an aversion to milk - perhaps that is why I have not felt this compelling urge to drink sweetened condensed milk straight up!

Yeah, if you don't like milk, then I can see why you wouldn't want to drink it.

Have you ever tried that?
