The first show of the new season aired last night. I DVRed it and watched it today, as a mean to distract myself from the annoying pain of my UTI. There was no one I really didn't like right off, unlike last season. I am routing for the girl who believes in running a kitchen full of respect, which seems to be lacking in many kitchens. I also like the independent, muslim women (who sadly went home, although she deserved it). I wonder what's going to happen with the lesbian couple. That, I imagine, will create some good drama.

I watched Top Chef and I think the right person went home. Her food looked completely unappetizing through the TV so I can't imagine what it looked like the the judges in person. It truly did look like baby food.

I'm a huge fan of this show. I completely agreed with the judges with the person voted off this episode. She served food after tasting it knowing it tasted salty, so she had to leave. I never serve food that is terrible tasting to me. I liked the pizza challenge, as they are in Chicago, but the cooks sure didn't all know how to cook pizza. Its the first challenge that should have been expected by all the chefs. The man that took two pans to make one pizza should go home soon. I already really like the chefs. There will be a lot of drama and several people sure went the extra mile to serve dishes that looked good. I am looking forward to next week. The preview really was interesting.

One girl brought up a problem I didn't think of. She didn't know how much dough to use! I didn't think of that, but since she was from Manhattan, and used to New York style, I guess she never bothered learning the other kind. Who would ever think it would come up?

I watched Top Chef Chicago for the first time this season. I still haven't formed an opinion of anyone yet. I DVR'd the entire series, so I hope to watch the episodes I missed so I can catch up. DVR is wonderful! I just got it today. This episode is "Block Party," and I instantly formed a negative opinion of the arrogant chef who said Mexican food is not fine dining and that Rick Bayless can go (expletive). I hope you're feeling better!
