I was watching a program today and it made me think of asking this question. I don't particularly believe in ghosts for the main reason that I have never encountered one. What about you lot (at mylot lol)do you believe hmmmm??? Have you ever encountered one or know someone who has. do you have a good ghost story? Boo!

Just like you, I haven't encountered one...or what I mean is I have never seen one. I once rented and lived in an old house. It's an ancestral house about a century old. The owner says it used to be a house of monks before their ancestors bought it. Story says that there are spirits in the house. I lived there for over five years but I've never seen one, though sometimes I hear some strange noise outside my room. Whenever I hear those sounds I get up and see what is it, but I see nothing. My house helpers told me stories that they have seen priest trying to approach them. There are even times when I recall I wasn't able to turn off lights or television, but when I wake up it's off already. I don't know if it's just my imagination playing on me, or just a coincidence or what. As I've told you, I've never seen one, so I don't know if I should believe ghosts or not. What I believe is that there are other entities living in this world and I respect them.

yes i believe in ghost and i love ghost stories! :) i have never seen a ghost but i believe i have experienced the presence of one. it happened when i first visited my girlfriend (we had a long distance relationship). i couldn't stay with her 'cos she was living with her family, so she put me in a hotel apartment which was very reasonable but the building was kind of old. anyway, the first morning when i woke up there was a strong scent in the bedroom, kind of like perfume or some sort of flower. then a few seconds later i felt my bed moving, like someone was trying to get on it. i thought my girlfriend might have sneaked in without me knowing (she had a key too) and wanted to surprise me. but when i turned over there was nobody. well, i dismissed it thinking it was the effect of the jet lag, and the smell might have been from the lotion that my girlfriend had left on the bedside table (but it was weird 'cos the bottle was closed, and i hadn't used any of it). later when my girlfriend came i told her about it, and she said she also smelled the same thing the night before. she said half jokingly that there probably was a ghost but i just shrugged it off 'cos i wasn't really afraid of ghosts. the following day when we checked out she casually mentioned my experience to the receptionist/cashier and her response blew me away... the cashier said "oh, you saw her too?" and we were like, "huh!?" she explained that a few guests had seen a female ghost in that room. and that gave me goose bumps.

That's a good ghost story. I'd love to tell that around a cozy campfire! It reminds me of a time when I was sleeping and I'm not sure this was a dream or not but I woke up when I felt something push the bottom of the bed down, when I looked it was the shape of a dog, then it just disappeared. I had never even had a dog before so not sure what it was I saw.

hehe, and you said you had never encountered a ghost? :) i've got another one for you... my girlfriend and i were on a ghost tour in New Orleans (which btw is the most haunted city in the US). well, we stopped at one of the haunted spots and the guide was telling us a story when my girlfriend felt something tugging at her skirt, like a little kid, but when she turned around there was nothing. she didn't tell me that until after we finished the tour. later that night she told she heard a baby crying in our hotel room. of course, it could have been a real baby in one of the adjacent rooms. but then again, in New Orleans you never know :)

I do believe in ghosts, but not so much as the type that are trying to scare you. I do not have a good ghost story.

I once stayed in an abandoned house overnight. It was an historic building on our property which was said to be haunted. I didn't believe the stories, partly because the man who told them to me had Alzheimer's and partly because I knew the building like the back of my hand. I grew up playing in and around it and had never seen or heard anything. The night I spent there was just to get out of the main house for a while and "camp out" without the actual camping part. Absolutely nothing unusual happened that night. As I was leaving though, literally at the door, a clear, gentlemanly voice seemlingly right behind me said, "Thanks for staying". When I whirled around there was nothing there. There was no way anyone could have pranked me in that building. I've seen and heard alot of stuff since, but that was the morning I became a believer. It was like being told about gravity, but not caring until you fall down. I'm not sure what ghosts are, how many types there may be, or even if we can ever know, but the simple answer to the simple question of "Do 'ghosts' exist?" has got to be "YES".

I have not encountered one. And I don't like to encounter one ever. LOL. But I love watching ghost story on TV like the Ghost whisperer. I know that there are people who can see them too.
