We have been introduced to this wondrous plastic lining in our pans years ago by DuPont and its called Teflon.
Since I have experienced cooking in teflon pans, I cant live without them especially when cooking our breakfast. Its so much easier to cook fried eggs and hotdogs and other dishes without the hassle of having to worry if the food will stick or not.
When its already worn out, I immediately buy a replacement as its also more convinient for my grandma to cook.
How has teflon changed your cooking?

Dearest Gabrielle47, I would like to suggest to you that you do some computer research on Teflon....and non-stick coatings! I will NOT use them at all! For the benefits you get in ease of cleaning...the health risks are phenomenal. Use judiciously! Cheers.

Thanks for the advise and concern Pergammano. I will take that into consideration as a lot of mylotters also had said that. Well, we make sure not to over use our teflon for health reasons. Cheers!

I only use teflon frying pans and teflon cooking pots and baking sheets. You are right that once a person has tried them nothing else will do. It is so much easier to use them than the regular ones because nothing sticks to them. But you have to remembe ro use plastic utensils on them so that you don't wear off the teflon because if you wear it off or scrape it off they turn rusty and can be thrown in the garbage. I have heard on the news, that teflon is another cancer causing thing but I don't really care anymore, because everything causes cancer these days and we may as well stop living if we are so afraid of getting cancer that we don't use or eat everything they say.

Yeah chris. Its a matter of using the things right and maybe FDA would have banned the use of teflon if they are harmful?

I used to use them a lot but now don't have any. They did make pancakes and other foods easier to prepare and clean up. Unfortunately, they scratch up too easily and then I heard that harmful chemicals in the coating leech into the food so I stopped using them.

I do not like to use teflon myself. .
and unless I am at a home where there are no other options I refuse to use it.
Teflon is not to be heated up to high temperatures which to me kind of rules out having it in saucepans. Do not boil anything in teflon as it gives off toxic fumes. It kills pet birds which makes a bell go off in my head to recall how canaries used to be sent into caves to find out if the air was safe or not.

I do use teflon utensils because they are practical to use and easy to clean. In stir frying we use less oil and is best for pancakes. But there are write ups that they are harmful to health. I really find them very useful in the kitchen.

I do like having teflon pans in the cupboard, but I don't like relying on them. I'm always a little scared of making it give off those bad fumes when I cook with them, but they are handy for making eggs and pancakes and stuff.
