I watch a show last sunday... and it was a shock to know that our there are certain food that fit our blood type... well, here is the summary of what i learned from that show... Type A - the herbivours...more fruits and vegetables but less meat are best for people with this blood type... so those who are type A are the ones who can be vegetarian. Type O - the carnivours... so more meat... and less fruits and vegetables... being a vegetarian is not advisable for them... Type B and Type AB - they are categorized as omnivours so any type of food will suit them... so they have the best of both worlds... Have you heard, watch, or read informations similar to this before?... What is your blood type?... and do you agree with the info above

Hello aseretdd, Wow! Mine is type O. No wonder I don't love the vegetables at all *smiles* Thanks for sharing the information with me. In fact, before reading this, I never eat vegetables. It is funny and yes, a very bad habit. I know my food intake is not balanced but I just cannot munch those green leaves or whatever you call them.

In the past... i also do not like vegetables... but i am glad that i was able to outgrow that... i even thought of becoming a vegetarian... but that did not happen since i can't seem to take meat out of my life... especially when i was pregnant... now i understand why... my body is not fit for a vegetarian life... since my blood type is O... thanks for the response...

My previous respond was about this. The difference on your post was you just name it as herbivours, carnivours and omnivours. Maybe it is a fact but just want to know how about the other nutrients. Like for herbivours who eat 80% of protein and 20% of veggies. That was the reverse of carnivours. But then i was still thankful because i belong to the people who can eat everything. I am type B.

Well, they did not mention about the other nutrients that the body need... they concentrated on the amount of protein intake that we should have... depending on our blood type... i am type O so... i need more protein... you are lucky to have a type B blood... thanks for the response...

Well, i am not very fond of milk... i think a lot of type O people are the same in that matter... i also tried to research on the type of food that i should eat and avoid... and to my surprise... the ones that i love most should be a no no in my diet... thanks for the response...

I am blood type o+. So I guess that means I should eat more meat & less vegetables & fruit. I actually do the opposite. I still eat meat, but I prefer at least half my meal to be salad or veges. What scientific basis do they use to say what we should eat based on our blood type?

Well, i only saw doctors talking about this during the segment of the show... i don't have any documents to prove it... but i can say that it is true for me... because i am type O... and i have a craving for meat... everytime i eat only vegetables for some days straight... thanks for the response...

Same as you... when i watched the show... it was the first time i encountered such information... and i realized that there is truth in it... but i think more study and research should be done since i don't think blood type is the only factor we should consider when it comes to our diet... thanks for the response...

It really is interesting... they did not specifically say that those with the blood type A should be vegetarians... but they said that they are the ones whose body is best fit to be a vegetarian... thanks for the response...

Well, from what i watched during the show... the doctor said that our body produces a certain enzyme that corresponds to our blood... and when we don't eat the right food base on our blood type... that might lead to frequent indigestion... thanks for the response...

This is a great run down of the blood types and foods... I know there is an awesome book out there.. But Sadly I hate sitting down to a book to figure out stuff. I am so happy you posted this basic understanding of the blood type vs what to eat.... Now to go figure out my blood type and try it... praying I can loose some!

I'm type A, so I should be a vegetarian (but I'm not.) What's the medical basis for this claim? (If any)

I don't exactly know the medical basis but during the show... they interviewed some doctors to attest to this... it doesn't mean that you should be vegetarian... but your diet should be inclined to more fruits and vegetables... thanks for the response...

I'm guessing you learned in Mel and Joey as I also watched the same episode last Sunday. It was a pretty interesting episode since they also had a segment about mouth sores which I'm prone to so I learned a lot in that show. I'm pretty much a meat-lover so it annoyed me to know that my blood type (A+) requires me to eat a lot of veggies, which I really, really hate. I don't think I can change my taste in food overnight. But I will try to eat more veggies just to be more healthier. Good luck to me ! hehehe

I am glad that you agree to it... but i think that this sort of thing needs more study and research... i think blood type is not the only factor that determines the type of food that we should eat... thanks for the response...

yeah,i've heard about it. Eat based on your blood type. And sad, i can hardly do it. Since my blood type is "o" but I like to eat fruits and vegetables. I eat meat, but not much. Can't imagine to eat only meats without vegetables

Well, i just want to share this piece of information to the mylot community... i am very glad that you like it... well, i think this explains why some people just love to eat vegetables while others prefer to eat meat and chicken... this also confirms that our body is such a complex system... thanks for the response...

I don't agree with it, but do have some close friend who have a great interest in this theory. Once a prospective employer asked for my blood type, which is not a legal question to ask in this country as part of the interview process. I was quite astounded, but told her truthfully that I did not know my blood type. It is against my religion to take a blood-typing test. I do agree, however, that different people might do better on different kinds of food. For example, I love milk, but know some people with whom it does not agree.

Well, blood is not only the basis for the type of food that is applicable to our body... and this type of theory needs further study and research... but for some like me... i see truth in it... like the craving for steak everytime i eat salad for like 3 days straight... thanks for the response...

I have never heard or read of such a thing, how can the type of our blood decide our food preferences? The metabolism is the same for people of all blood groups.

Yes, type O is the most common blood type in my country... so there is little problem when a blood transfusion is needed... other than that it is considered as the universal donor... thanks for the response...

Very interesting subject! I never knew which foods suited which types of people! I knew there was a book written on the subject matter, but I never knew which blood types matched which specific types of foods! I'm A+ for my blood type, and so is my mom, and so is my grandpa. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I just thought I liked to eat healthy, but who knows now! It could be linked to my blood type! You never know! It's crazy how your blood type can mean so much. I heard something about how A and B type bloods evolved from O type, and people with type O blood are more inclined to fish and hunt than people with type A or type B because of the hunter/gather instincts in human beings. Type O people are considered to be more primitive. These facts are just fascinating!

For me... i have always wanted to be a vegetarian... but just can't stay away from eating meat... and when i was pregnant... i ate a lot of salads and fruits... but always had this craving for steak... maybe this blood type and food has something to do with it since my baby is also a type O... And the information that you added about Type O people being hunters and Type A and B as gatherers... is really very interesting... i think i will research on this more... thanks for the response...
