two Roman Catholic women who live in the archdiocese, and another who lives in Germany, excommunicated. Rose Marie Hudson and Elsie Hainz McGrath, were ordained as priests in an organization called Roman Catholic Womenpriests in November. Their ordinations were not recognized by the church, which does not ordain women as priests accused of schism, defined by the catechism of the Catholic Church as "the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him." What are your feelings on Women priests..

The Catholic Church maintains that they do not ordain women priests because all 12 apostles were men. However, I must also point out, that all 12 apostles were probably greek or jewish as well, so by similar logic we could have to limit our priests to those ethnicities, too. Obviously, it is a case of pick and choose from a group of men who do not have a healthy attitude towards the female gender nor do they have any meaningful relationships with them. A bunch of men who cannot have relationships with women will, perforce, develop oddities over time. It is a flaw of a male-centric theology which I do not believe God could have possibly intended. It makes me sad. It makes me even sadder that people have a hard time turning away from 'tradition' and will follow a religion just because it was the religion of their parents without spending time to think for themselves.

I can't believe that they were able to be ordained. I have never heard of such a thing happening. I think that women should be able to serve in a greater role in the church than they did in the past. In any other organization, that kind of discrimination would not be allowed. The church may find in the future that it is harder to find men willing to fulfill the function of priest because they want to have families (I heard of several priests quitting in order to get married when I was active in the church). Other churches allow women to be ministers. Why shouldn't the Catholic church. They need to get up to present time!!!
