I don't celebrate it. A lot of people in the United States do, though. In fact, I'm really happy that I don't have to work tomorrow because I don't want to deal with being teased for not celebrating it. The reason I don't celebrate it is that basically what St. Patrick did was convert people to Christianity from the religion I follow now... so I'm not really going to celebrate something with his name on it, even though it's modernly seen as just a celebration of Irish heritage.

Teasing is never nice, not if it is in a offensive manner. Far enough re:not celebrating St.patricks Day.Good for you for sticking to your belief.Cheers

Well in most pubs in England there is normally an offer on in pubs where if you buy 4 pints of Guiness you get a free Guiness hat. So I think this year I will go do that. Last year I had to work St Paterick's day in a hotel bar - really not that much fun when you are not drinking! This year I plan to make up for it :)

St. Patrick's Day is very big here in the United States, but I fear that most people use it as an excuse to drink more. I don't really celebrate it because I am not Irish, but it is fun to eat green bagels or have a mint milkshake.

In the Netherlands we don't celebrate Saint Patricks day. I don't know the meaning of that day.
