Do you people believe, really believe Barak when he says he was never in attendance when pastor Wright said any of his racial and hateful remarks? Think again! Here is an article written on August 8th of 2007 about the very day that has been in question over the las few days and guess what? Obama was THERE!! http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2007/8/8/194812.shtml If this doesn't appear as a link then just copy and paste to your address window.

Guess what? Obama was in MIAMI on that day. It's already been retracted by the New York Times reporter who had simply copied and pasted your story without checking the facts first. Pesky things, those facts can be! Annie

C'mon Anne, I showed you mine now you show me yours! I want to see the retraction! The reporter of this article also touched on the Miami trip and eluded to the fact that Obama was (due to a little known technology known as the jet)able to be at the meeting AND in Miami. Retraction, please! Even if it was retracted, you can't possibly be willing to concede to this man (liar)that he NEVER heard any of this preaching in 20 years! 20 YEARS??

Okay folks, I won't wait for Anne. I did some research myself and found where Billy Kristol, not the Times, withdrew his statement about Obama being present at the service on July 22. He talked to the Obama campaign (now surely THEY wouldn't lie)and said he regreted the misinformation! I will give you the link and let you read it yorself. What Anne fails to mention is that the reporter, Jim Davis, Not only stands by his article but swears by it! Obama was there on that day! The church had a 7:30 service that morning, plenty of time to attend and catch a flight to Miami and get to the meeting he attended there(especially if you don't have to worry about a little thing called traffic when you have a police escort)! I believe in being fair so here's the link! http://mediamatters.org/items/20080317005

As much as Obama is said to be a regular churchgoer I see no reason to believe he was not present during that particular service but IMO I must be honest and say the article only says "In fact, Obama was in attendance at the church when these statements were made on July 22" that really does not prove anything. There are no facts to prove he was present.

Excerpt from the story about July 22: "Wright laced into America's establishment, blaming the "white arrogance" of America's Caucasion majority for the woes of the world, especially the oppression suffered by blacks. To underscore the point, he refers to the country as the "United States of White America". Many in the congregation, including Obama, nodded in apparent agreement as these statements were made" The reporter who was there that day saw Obama nodding in agreement. This was months ago and I cant believe we havent heard of this church until now. what a biased media

Not only are there no facts to prove he was present, there are facts to prove he was NOT present; he was in Miami speaking at a convention that day. Annie

excuses, excuses, excuses that is what Obama's followers are best at. He is a politician after all so much for the candidate of change.

If this is accurate and it can be proven that he was there, Obama is SO screwed. Why would he lie about something that could be traced back? Oh well, guess I'll just sit back andsee if the fur starts to fly or if the teflon guy slips away again. One thing for sure, this is not your average, boring primary.

Apparently, anniepa has done a bit of research on this and found out that the report of Obama's presence at that sermon is a fabrication on the part of Newsmax. Oh how surprised I am that Newsmax would lie.

If there is a witness who saw his presence there then he was there. This article shows Obama and Pastor Wright goes way back. Why is he even denying? If he was there he was there and that priest is a racist. If he wants to run in politics he should not be associated with racist. He should be even with the people and no racial discrimination. He should prove to the people that this pastor haven't gotten the racism in his mind. I wonder why that Pastor even became a Pastor with an attitude like that.

I messed the one year anniversary, I should have sent Obama a card. To Obama July 22 is the day that will live in infamy. Every year we should remember this day, maybe even a national holiday.

This issue is very interesting. personally, I see no much hustle about whether Barack Obama was there or not. i think what is cardinal here is whether Obama supports that "doctrine" or not. From the very outset, we have seen and do understand his stance in as far as the race issue is concerned in the US. I think this is just a diversion that is mostly typical of the West's kind of politics. Obama and Rev Wright are two different individuals. Wright said the words. What has that to do with Obama. I am pretty sure Obama cannot recall Wright uttering those remarks (though quite true about chickens coming home to roost!) because he could have been preoccupied with the need or intention to listen to the Good Word and not the off-the-cuff rantings of an overzealou preacher.

The main problem is Obama's own statement proclaiming Wright as his mentor and then denying having any knowledge of these goings on and then finally, yesterday, admitting the truth about knowing about it but turning a deaf ear to it! I don't believe anyone with the IQ of a 5th grader could possibly be taken by such double talk

Whether he was in attendance or not does not matter to me as much as the fact that he refers to this man as a close and dear friend.

I totally agree and let's not forget "spiritual leader and mentor"
