What Do You Think About Today's TV Seasons?

When I was growing up, a TV season started in about September and ended around June. There was a day or two break for holidays and an occasional rerun but rarely even that.
Today, we are fortunate it we get a TV season that last more than a few months. This makes me so frustrated because they get us into a TV show and then they keep showing rerun after rerun, only to end the show mid season.
Sometimes they will put the show back on for a few episodes before they take it off for the year. This results in us barely having a TV season at all. I comepletely hate that they do this and I think they need to quit and go back to having full TV seasons like they did when I was younger. What do you all think about this?

hear, hear!lol. that's what happened to grey's anatomy and supernatural too. they cut the series in season which have cliffhanger endings then put the show back half a year later. its so frustrating. they will get you hooked up in the show then end it midway or better yet they axed the show no questions asked.

I certainly haven't been happy with the television season the last few years. This year was just harder because of the writer's strike. I'm glad the strike is over!
One of the biggest problems with Lost is the large cast with salaries climbing, so we end up getting less episodes. People get upset when they kill off somebody on the show, but with all the new people coming somebody has to leave.
