Very frankly speaking, i do not like to answer to one liners. but i have seen many highly rated users start all the one liners. they also get loads of responses as they are easy to answer. what do you do? Do you answer those?

It all depends on the quality of the discussion than the quantity of the discussion to be responded. If it's really intereting, then i don't mind answering short discussions too.

it depends on the question sometimes some questions are such that we will have to answer in one liner but if the question demands explanation i will give explanation.

It actually all depends on what the one liner is about. If I can help someone or elaborate on it, then i will respond to them. I do skip alot of one line discussions though because they have no meaning to me.

Occassionally there will be a one liner type of question on mylot that I feel I can give a worthy answer to... sometimes it is just a question and not a curiosity or opinion that is being expressed. I do not think I have ever written a single line question - unless it is as a comment to another person's response on one of my threads.

one-liners are questions or answers that end in one single line. For example a one-liner question can be "Do you like apples" and a one-line answer can be "Yes, I do". Usually mylot discourages the use of one-liners are the basic idea over here is to 'talk' and interact with people as much as one can.

This depends on the type of one liner. I assume that you are referring to the simple "which is best" type of question, which has very little merit and is simply a bid for responses. These discussions are quite pointless, but you can occassionally find a briefly worded question that is valid.

You know Subha, I think some people out here have lot of referrals. Otherwise I just cant explain how and why some people get so many responses while others just don’t. well some discussions are quite debatable, so you naturally have a lot of responses coming and going back and forth but responses like 80+, 100+ or even 50+ are quite difficult and absurd. And then as you say, some of these discussions are like ‘do you like sweets, what toothpaste do you use, do you have friends and such types! ‘ what do so many people find so interesting to answer to such one-liners? I seldom do and that also when I don’t feel like getting under the skin of a serious discussion.

Yes I do, if it is an interesting one. Many times one liners can be tricky, eluding and fun. I do not answer to stuffs like: What is your favorite color? However i would love to answer: If being blue is sad then why blue is your favorite color? or Why fat is funny?... I just find such queries very interesting and really have to tear by hair while getting a beffiting response.

No problem for me in responding to one-liners, provided they are catchy, appealing and interesting. If any provoking matter is raised even in one-liner, I go for reply. It is commendable on the part of the member, who start a meaningful one-liner discussion. Though, I do not start a one-liner discussion myself.

Hello dear subha. It depends on how good and attractive a topic it is though it is a one-line discussion. I think that a good topic counts to me and it also leaves me a lot of imaginary space to respond to such a simple question. Thanks.

Hey subha12, I agree with you as I do not want to answer or respond to one liner, but some time I deviate from my path & I try to respond those one liner who attracts me with their topic and asking question. Unless untill you express your views no body can know what things you want to discuss or what you want to communicate. Very honesty I respond to one liner merely. pkc3000

I don't really recall. It seems to me that I respond to the discussions that peak my interest and, in order to do that, they have to be really thought provoking. I have probably responded to a few one liners if the question asked was something that I had a lot to say about. But, I feel like a one liner may be a question and then the poster didn't even give their opinion on it and that bugs me. Why bother? Why ask me what I think but not give me your opinion? Why should I give you my opinion if you don't think enough of me to tell me your thoughts on the subject? So, if it is a question with nothing but that, I am likely to skip it. If the one liner is an opinion of a subject, I might consider responding to it.

You mean giving responses to discussions which have only one line? I do answer. I do not believe in lengthy discussion topics nor I like lengthy responses. I am not here to read the stories. I like crisp, short, meaningful topics and responses. I generally answer the discussion topic whether it is one line or more, but I should know the answer for the topic. I do not wish to comment on 1 line or less than 1 line responses.

hi subha! i also answer discussions with one-liner descriptions. but that is if i'm really interested with the question, might be something that i have not yet encountered before. and that seldom happens. and during some boring times, i answer such discussions for the sake of answering a discussion. ^__^;; its because they are easy to answer since it is a straightforward question which doesn't really require thinking too much. and its easy to read too.

I also do not like to response to oneliners... i do not create discussions or respond or even make comments that are oneliners... i feel like those type of discussion or response are made for the sake of getting that cent pay... it wouldn't hurt to add more thought or to give one's own opinion when you yourself are asking others...

Normally I do not answer one liners. It seems like most of the people who post them are the people on mylot who are just trying to make money. Someone really should tell them that you dont get paid on a "number of posts basis" you actually get paid by the quality of what you are saying, as well as the key word density. Though it does bother me a little when I see one liners that have 50 responces.

Yeah, i also don't like to answer one liners too, as there's nothing to write and also time waste in opening and responding to those discussion and we also not get paid for those types of discussions... Keep posting!!!
