I went out on the truck with my first husband for about three weeks. We saw twenty six states, some of them more than once in the course of three weeks. We drove miles without loads, only to be told, at the end of a long day, that there was a hot load on a dedicated run that someone had failed to dispatch. I developed a real appreciation and understanding for the work my husband did at that time.
