where not even a single new comer asks in awe what are those = and - , how to change my avatar? What is a best response and what are those large or small numbers and millions of other questions for which there are very clear answers in the Mylot Home page guidelines. Do you know what prevents them from having a good look at the Mylot guidelines before peppering the mylotters?

I've often wondered the same...and that is why I never respond to such discussions. Once earlier, another mylotter had started a similar discussion on whether we would help such people....especially when we see them violating a guideline and they obviously don't know because they are new here. The mylotter was wondering if it was worth responding to discussion which might get deleted just to help another mylotter.
I responded that it was their responsibility to be reading the guidelines and to be sure not to violate rules.
Some people just want to get into the thick of things without checking out the rules.
These are the people who might want to learn to swim without knowing what preparations to take.
Or it might be something else....which only they will be able to answer.

I totally understand what you say. My son would do it and it totally irritates me. Thankfully he has stopped.
Go through something first...and try to understand the rules before playing the game. "I'll learn as I go along"...is the easy way out...but harder in the long run.

The leaders and politicians don't understand that the reputation of an entire society is at stake at this global forums in a global village .The way you live is personal But the way you behave is public.I don't know when are the misbehaving politicians going to realize their responsibility on the younger generation and insist what they should be taught first.

I think some of them do take a good look at the guidelines but some of it is unclear and confusing. I looked at it when first joining here and still had questions. I think all new emmbers will have questions regardless. Mylot doesn't always respond promptly either. sometimes not at all.

Very true. some do not even take the time to go look and check out the site. I think alot of them just get in a big rush to earn here and they post questions to us to have us answer them faster and they earn while doing it.

I doubt that time will come. I joined myLot, read the guidelines and had no early clue what I read. I read again and still was stumped. I found it easier and quicker to do what I thought was right, inquire of longstanding members various questions and then read the guidelines again. Once I was active on the site, responded to a few discussions and started a few of my own, understanding the theory and methods behind myLot became easier. So I do believe questions will always be asked of other members in order to have a clear understanding of how the site works.

I agree about reading the guidelines first. The guidelines made more sense to me after I participated and really became involved with myLot so I read them 3 or 4 times. I still have questions but then again I don't learn fast. Takes time for me to absorb what I've read.

You are not alone, my dear. I also do wonder at these newcomers. We all were newcomers but I guess we came in differently.
Actually it all boils down to people's lack of reading isntructions. I have seen someone ask if they should write their surname on the question that outrightly says "Surname"! Can you imagine?! lol
I think people simply ought to read and pay attention to instructions before they go about their business.

I don't feel bothered by it at all. We all need help every once in awhile. I still don't "get" everything there is to know about mylot. I know I broke a couple of rules unknowingly in the beginning.
I don't mind helping newcomers out. The people that don't want to bother with it don't even have to read the discussions. So, they really shouldn't be bothered.

Oops! I was guilty of asking what the stars are back when I first got here. I guess it was a way to ask people in my new community for a little bit of assistance. I didn't mean to bother anyone. I was given a lot of help and was very grateful for it. I think it is a way of reaching out to the community as a newcomer. Sort of like asking a new neighbor for some names of some good restaurants in the area. Or, for directions to the nearest library. You could look it up for yourself in the phone book or the internet but, it is much nicer to get to know the people around you by reaching out for some help and engaging in conversation.

What I meant to say is That I won't fancy a neighbor knocking the door and asking me the way to the post office which is right across the road looming in front of the eyes with the big board with Post office written on it.
We sure don't mind doing a ittle help to the new comers. But we should not encourage the lazy ones who just ask things for asking sake.

Many people complain before even asking what's going on. I guess the same logic applies to some, they ask first before reading everything. They wanted to be spoonfed to cut the work that they have to do. People nowadays are finding more ways to do less work yet get much money. Same thing applies. People just gets lazier nowadays.
