This is Spring?

Snow Covered Tree Branches - From my Red Maple Tree in my front yard. Typical Minnesota spring weather, snow, cold, rain, and icy roads.

Well here it is the 2nd official day of spring. Well here in Minnesota it sure doesn't look like spring in the least. We are to get 3 to 6 inches of this great white winter stuff called snow. It started late last night with a mild dusting of snow now it's getting heavyier. Plus some rain will be tossed in just to make the roads really wonderful to drive on. Spring in Minnesota never really arrives till around the end of April as far as I am concerned. Can I change the calendar somehow to reflect this? Is your weather springlike or is it like Minnesotan spring? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It is spring time over there and you are amidst that white stuff called snow. Thanks to the area that you get that kingd of climate at that place. But over here in india it is not less that a summer day. Hot and humid that will best define the climate.

Hi Grandpa! We're in SE Minnesota and we have about 6 inches of new snow, and it's supposed to keep coming down all day. You're right, it never really feels like spring here until April. You just can't trust March!

What city you in? I am in C00n Rapids about 15 miles North of Minneapolis. I live very near Northtown Mall actually near University and 85th Ave N.W. It's a mix of rain and snow right now at 1:30. I have maybe 4 inches so far and it sux big time. I do love the snow but once it got warm a little while back I was geared for my gardening etc. Now I know it's not till May but I wanted to get out there cutting and pruning the flowers etc back. But that waits as usual another month with this chit falling.

We are about 15 miles north of Rochester and wound up with about 6 inches of new snow. I hope it melts fast, 'cause I'll be darned if I'm going to pay someone $50 to plow the driveway.

I know, seriously, we still have to put on our winter gear. We get 2 seasons now, and both are extreme. It won't warm up until probably May and we were told that they are "forecasting" a hotter than average summer too, they were right about this winter being brutal so.. they may be right about the summer too! Nothing in between, gosh.

Hi grandpa Bob. its been really nice here in kansas the last couple of days. The other day it got up to the 70's. Its about time I am sick of the cold. Today shold get into the lower 50's and 30 percent chance of rain. The rest of the week it calls for the 70's and 60's. I sure hope spring is here to stay.

We haven't had a 70 degree day in a years time. Well not that long but sure seems longer than a year. The snow is melting slowly today as it did get above freezing a little and the sun poked it's head out for a little bit. Now the raods, driveways, and sidewalks are starting to freeze over again. Hate this time of year and the rare snowstorm like we had Friday and Saturday. But it is Minnesnowta after all.

Hi Grandpa Bob, I know what you mean. Our first couple days spring have been more like winter. We have snow, high winds and a temp of 32 degrees today. I am so looking forward to spring weather, I am so tired of the snow and the cold!!!

I have seen March Springs here in Minnesota actually. But Minnesota March weather is very odd. It can be 5 degrees and snowing like mad then the next day it can be 60 degrees and sunshiney. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I cant complain today it made it up to 54 and on some of trees I see some budding. I have a couple of daffidols that came up. Which I didnt know I had because we moved in here last July. I love daffidols. I want to plant some more out there. Hey maybe Ill get some for Easter.

It's not quite a Minnesotan spring but it's a some what typical Pennsylvanian spring. We had a dusting of snow here last night too. The wind is terrible but at least the sun is out today, it has been overcast and gloomy. I guess Mother Nature just doesn't know how to read a calendar!

I prefer to say FATHER NATURE as a man would more than likely be this foolish at this time of year. I love the snow as it builds up on my rails of my front deck. hey there grandpa bob spring has not sprung where I live in ohio either, it one day kinda looks like its gonna pop but than nooo the rain and snow begin again. I keep looking out to see my flowers poping a sure sign of spring but i see nothing so far. Easter is to be cold and wet so ya we may have to wait into april to see some real spring weather. good luck with the snow!

We escaped the snow storm predicted, and the rains stopped mid afternoon. We have wind advisory through today, but sun is up and temps wouldn't be bad if not for wind. March winds erase the moisture, so we have to have a lot to help us out here. LOL. Sure doesn't feel like Easter it is so early. I think being so early is probably good though, because Easter Lilys will fill our churches and brighten us up until better weather comes along and the flowers and birds and peepers resound their songs.

Nasty Minnesota March Weather - From my front deck. The roads are wet and slippery as heck.

Well depending where you live this storm may be approaching you this weekend. Maybe even tomorrow. Here's a shot just taken of my front street. You can see the snow and rain mix falling and making the raods very wet and slippery. We get these snowy Marches all too often here in Minnesota. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Your spring does not look very nice. We don't have any snow on the ground here it is windy out thought it is suppose to be in the 50's today it was almost 70 yesterday just gorgoue I hope your sun comes out and melts all you snow so spring will show up!

I've never been to Minnesota (I live in the south), but a friend of mine from Chicago said "Minnesota? Now, THAT'S a cold place!" So I kind of have an idea now. I grew up in the Caribbean; I don't think I could handle the cold there. Hope you get some warm weather soon!

Yeah Minnesota can and does get very cold at times. A few days this year we were at 15 below zero and had windchills of 40 below zero those days. Not many people go too far on those days. Living here for over 30 years I am used to the cold and snow etc. I love the snow but can do without the frigid below zero days and nights. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'll say! I watched The Incovenient Truth yesterday and today I woke up thinking, what's Al Gore talking about?!! What Global Warming it's snowing in spring! It's definitely Minnesotan Spring in Chicago too!

We are actually seeing the sun today in Boston but this weekend is very iffy! I just opened a window and it feels like it's chilly out there so I don't know when Spring will actually be here. I just don't want any more snow!

Snow and Rain Covered - This is nasty

Hwere's my car taken this morning when it first started. You can tell it's snow and rain mixed. Now we have about 4 inches and it's still snowing and raining. YIKES! Gotta love Minnesota March storms. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Been there, done that. A couple of years ago when I was living in Zimmerman, we had snow on the 5th of May, I think it was. I do NOT miss that!
