Literally! I have this pain in the left side of my neck that sometimes causes headaches and it always hurts. I asked my husbands physical therapist if she knew what it could be (I can't afford a doctor) and she said it's probably arthritus in my neck. Well...I'll be....LOL. Does anyone else experience this pain?

I have had the same thing recently and it is not arthritis. I was sick for two weeks with this. I had a pain in the back of my neck on the right hand side and I also had an earache and a headache to go along with it. I also had a burning sensation on the back of my head at times. We don't have insurance and I couldn't afford to go to the doctor either. The pharmacy recommended Robitussin and an allergy medication. I bought and took those and it cleared it up in just a few days. My neck hurt like I had slept on it wrong. My ear ached which made my head ache, but the burning sensation, I never figured out.

I'm glad you're better. No earache with mine so it could be arthritus...I'm 60, so anything like that can happen LOL.

Sometimes yes I do. Start making slow circles with your head. That sometimes loosens the muscles. Another thing to do is put a damp towel in the microwave.Make it as hot as you can stand, then wrap around the back of your neck. Works for me.

Thanks, I do actually do that only I use a heating pad that I have that wraps around my neck. I also find Ibuprofin effective. Well, nice to know I'm not alone, but sorry you have it too!
