Since we are all on here it would appear that we all love our computers... personally I don't know what I would do without one. One time I had an awful situation... My modem decided to not work any more. I tried and tried and tried again to connect but it just kept hanging up. It agitated me so badly that I was having anxiety attacks, crying, heart palpitations, sweating, shaking etc. I ended up taking the modem to a computer store to have them check it. They didn't find anything wrong so I took it home and reconnected it... Lo and behold it worked perfectly... LOL, all it needed was a reset apparently. If my internet connection lapses now that is the first thing I do... turn the modem off then on again. Another thing that happened to my computer was around the same time... 11 years ago, my four year old son had gastroenteritis... he walked over to met at the computer and vomited all over my keyboard LOL. I had to take the bottom off and wipe it all out with a damp cloth then a dry one... then wait for it to dry before I could us it again... after that there were a couple of keys that never worked properly again :) So what is the worst disaster that has ever happened to your computer?... come on, share all the gory details LOL!

I think the biggest disaster for me was when my hard drive crashed and I thought that I would lose all my data if they made it work. I was told that it would not be a problem, but the guy would only fix it if I stayed in the same city. Since I decided to move before the start of the next school year and it crashed again before I moved I went ahead and got another computer and tried to get the guy to retrieve the data off the hard drive. It turned out that his retrieval did not work (he got the folders but not the data). And worse yet, when I was on vacation, I was using an external hard drive on which I had saved some data from the school computer and it didn't work right (it is the same one he had used to transfer data from the broken computer) so I transferred the information onto my laptop. I got to my next destination and found I no longer had my external hard drive!!! Fortunately, I had transferred the most important information to the laptop, but it was a big loss to me.

Argh, isn't it just so aggravating when you lose data like that, I have never lost anything too important. But in the early days I'd be typing a document when the computer crashed and I'd have to re-type it because I hadn't saved it... now I always regularly save my work to avoid that happening.

I tend to save my work regularly because I do classes online. Fortunately, when I reopen the word processor after shutting it down accidentally, the last thing I was typing or had open is there. I love "open office". I haven't lost anything since I started using it.

the biggest disaster that i faced was when my hard disk went repair and all the data in it was lost... it was a terrible moment to know that all my information was gone...
