Will you go to see a doctor when you get slight illness.Slightly sick, not very serious,I mean.Do you think it's holding a candle to the sun to see a doctor in this condition?

I hardly go to the doctors at all unless I know it is something really bad. I will not even take my children unless I know for sure that they need proper medicines to help them, I will try my best to cure them myself using ordinary things.

I only go see the doctor if I really have a feeling that I could die lol. I hate to bother with it. Unless I have something that is chronic or I can't get out of bed I let it run its course. It is silly to see the doctor everytime you get a case of the sniffles. My Sister in Law takes her kids everytime they cough it seems like and now they are the most whiny unhealthy kids on the planet. My daughter on the other hand has been twice in the past year.

I rarely get colds or things like that. I've tried to balance when I go. I used to try to stay away from the doctor's office. Which probably was stupid of me because I have asthma. I treated myself with over-the-counter sinus medicine for a week (I had a sinus headache and runny nose). I ended up in the hospital with double-pneumoniia in both lungs. They told me the sinus medication dried my lungs out, causing the pneumonia. So I have to be very careful with over-the-counter things, and see the doctor when I should!

I rarely see a doctor unless I really need to. I will go for bloodwork and exam and such to monitor certain things, but for routine sickness, flu, etc, no I don't go. For most things, there's not a lot they can do except give you medications to treat symptoms, and I don't take meds unnecessarily either.

I won't go unless I really, really need too. It cost way too much!

PS - I do however go for a check up once per year, including a pap smear and mammogram.

I don't have health insurance and it costs way too much to see a doctor. So, I only go if it's so bad that I can't walk or drive or work everyday. I've been really sick in my life, too, and should have seen a doctor, but I don't. It has to be a life-threatening emergency.

I hate going to the doctor or the dentist. I only go when I know I can't get better from over-the-counter medicines or something. xD
