Did anyone else think Chikezie wasn't going to make it through?

He wasn't one of my favorites although I think he does have a good voice and stage presence...BUT there are so many others that I feel deserve to win much more than he did and I for one am happy that he's finally gone. My favorite is David Cook and I think he also has it all....great voice and stage presence.
What do you think about the vote last night? Was it right or are you a Chikezie fan? Who is your favorite right now on American Idol?

I was not suprised. He was not on the top of my list but he seems to be a very nice person and I liked his personality a lot better than some of the others. I think that even although he is gone from AI his career will get a good jump start with the exposure he has received.

He does have a great personality and I'm sure that's going to get him far in life. Just making it to the top ten on AI I'm sure is a great jump start for his career.

I didn't think he was going to make it after Tuesday nights performance. He sang one of my favorite songs but did not make it original, nor did he change it to suit his personality and honestly, he ruined that song for me. I think he comes across too cheezy for me IMO LOL
As for David Cook to turn a well known Michael Jackson song into his own, all I can say is WOW - He DESERVES to win - I would buy his CD for sure. I loved his version.

I'm not so much into them making a song "their own". For me if they can make it sound like the original that is a big thing. If they can come up with an original song that I like now that would get my attention.

While it was miles and above the BEST performance of the night (in my opinion). It wasn't "his own" version. He did the MJ song from his birth year but opted to do someone else's version of it. And I agree, IT WAS GREAT!

Everyone has a right to their opinion and there are people we like and people we don't. It IS nice to say why or why not....especially here on mylot.

I wasn't a Chikezie fan either. I thought he sounded good sometimes, but not all the time. But I defeniatly think he had a good personality, he was a sweet guy. But I honestly didn't think that he would be in it for too long, he actually passed my expectations.

No, I don't think he gave the weakest performance at any time during the show. Sometimes I wonder exactly who votes on these shows. I know I often do...lol

I wasn't a Chikezie fan, but I thought he had a good voice and a great personality. I thought the vote was right and that it was his time to go home.
I don't know if I have a favorite this year. I really like all of the contestants that are left. I think Carly has an amazing voice, and I love the way that David Cook mixes things up with his arrangements.

I liked him and he appeared to be quite a nice guy. I'm hoping he has a career ahead of him - at least he goes on tour. Maybe I'll go to see it this time around! I am so sick of Christy and was kind of hoping she would be the one to leave this time. She is cute, has a halfway decent voice but not a whole lot of stage presence - maybe she'll find a career as a country singer who knows. I have my favorite for the ones left and will be interested to see if they pick the right songs next time around.

I liked Chikezie but did not expect him to win in the end. I think he should not have been let go; I think that Kristie Lee Cook should have been voted off.
I think either David Cook or Archuletta will win it.
Right now, David Cook is my favorite, Archuletta close second.

I thought he was starting to really step it up until this week. I was sorry to see him go over one or two others I think should have gone sooner than him.
