Does anyone suppose Peter Jackson will ever top it?

Have to agree with the comments which have gone before. This was just such a fantastic trilogy of books (definitely top of my list of favourite authors), that I don't think Peter Jackson will beat this accomplishment. I thought he did a fantastic job of interpreting the story, and even when some things were not possible, he tried to pay tribute to them in some way. I heard he was going to have a go at doing The Hobbit, has anyone else heard that? It would be logical I suppose, but would be difficult for him because we would all have such high expectations.

I'd like to see him try but I don't think so. This movie was so great but this was because it was based ona great story itself and this was one of the reasons forits success and to my opinion as far as fantasy stories go nothing tops the Lord of the Rings!

Impossible. Considering how great the Trilogy was I don't see it as even possible. I do fear Tolkein's books will ever be read again as the movies were excellent and didn't betray the books. Who in the future will take them time as we did and actually enjoy the whole word of the trilogy? Really a priceless experience. None I fear.
