I talk to myself very often. Other people think that I talk to them. Do you talk aloud and other people can hear you talking? When do you talk to yourself?

Oh! What an interesting discussion. I often talk to myself, but I talk within. I do not let other people know that I am talking. When talking to myself, I can ponder over many issues and I can argue within myself, what would be the better course of action for me. Talking to myself gives me a kind of self-satisfaction and relief.

I talk to myself alot when I'm doing some hard thinking or looking for something. My friends thinks it's funny when I do off and start talking to the missing object like it can hear me.

Sometimes when I'm working things out in my head I'll start talking under my breath and mumbling. Also if I have too much on my mind I'll try talking quietly to myself in order to get out the things I need to say. It seems to help and Hubby doesn't seem to notice so it's all good. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Oh yeah.... I tend to talk to myself especially during playing in a bowling competition. The times that I was not able to deliver good shots. Talking to myself about whats wrong with my stance or approach or the arrow... or sometimes just motivating myself to focus on the game. Wow it's good to know that I'm not the only one doing it...

I confess I do talk to myself. I find that when I get angry about something I will talk to myself as I am walking away from the situation. My mom says she can always tell when I have had a problem with a cashier at the store I shop at because I come out of the store talking to myself. I also talk to myself when I am making something. I think that when you talk the steps out you get it right. Like when I am trying a new recipe. I will read each step out loud and then do the step. For me this gets the job done and right. When I am online chatting wheather here or on another site and I am trying to get my point across. This is when I get a little frustrated and I talk to the computer which I know is not going to answer. I tell myself that the person can not hear me but it does seem to make me feel better. One day I will actually answer myself.

ah, no worries any more for those who talk to themselves - in this day and age nothing is thought of it, since most people likely figure that you are on your cellular phone having a conversation with someone else.

Do I talk to myself? No, I don't... Hey,what do you mean, you talk to yourself all the time. Oh yeah, when? Well you're doing it right now. Oh, I am..Oh..sorry about that. No problem, just wanted to let you know that's all. Thanks De nada Merci beaucoup De rein Au revoir Hehe You know I have it figured out actually. The cell phone thing. My theory is, is that people really AREN'T talking to someone else on the cell phone but to themselves, but carrying a cell phone gives them a good excuse to talk to themselves without seeming daft. Uh, yes I do actually talk to myself..at home alone with my kitties out loud...but in the street I'm talking to myself but in my head.

Hello there. I have this particular habit as well, especially at work when I have lots to do; lots of paperwork to update and then I would be so angry and stressed out and I tend to talk to myself just to say out loud "what to do next". "Why are there so many errors???" and stuff like that. I would make common sense talks to myself as well. But apart from that, I do not speak to myself unless it's purely work related. Work makes someone go bonkers, do you agree?? LOL.

yeah i do.. sometimes consciously, oftentimes unconsciously.. whenever i play any sport, especially when i'm at bat, i need to remind myself that "i can do this" or when i'm taking the exam, "why didn't i study"..... one of my classmates in college approached me one day and asked why i talk to myself (outloud) when in class.. that's when i realized, without knowing it, i'm voicing out my thoughts while we're having discussions in class.. just goes to show that our brain works 24/7..

plus, yourself is the only person who will never tire of listening to everything you have to say.. and if time comes that you're annoyed with yourself, you won't leave yourself and advise to talk to the moon.. hahaha (which i think is a pretty good idea though) lol..

Yes in fact I do. Sometimes when I am alone and catch myself daydreaming or something, oftentimes I catch myself talking to, well, myself. I find it weird sometimes. But it's not like I way beyond normalacy. In certain occasions I catch myself talking to myself when I practice for an oral examination, especially before an interview or something. It helps me articulate my thoughts and correct some things which need to be corrected. I have never been caught by others talking to myself though.

I do all the time, especially if I bump into something or drop something. I live alone and don't want my voice to disappear. The one that bothers me is when the microwave dings and I say "thank you".

I didn't add that the microwave will ding again about 4 times in 30 seconds increments. If I'm busy I start saying "I know" or "I'm busy". With migraines I usually say "Quiet".

Yes, frequently. And guess what, I also answer myself, LOL! I do it when I'm following any sort of instuctions, be it a cake recipe or building a tv cabinet. It just helps me to concentrate, and yes, if there's other people around, they hear me! I've always heard that talking to oneself is the first sign of madness, so if that's true, then I'm stark raving mad, LOL!

I talk to myself out loud and the people that hear me I can't see. They just like to yell at me all day and night and still will not answer them just like they will not answer me. I'm not crazy they wanted me to think that i was hearing things. And now i don't care what they think of me anymore. NO matter how much they insult me or talk junk. It doesn't bother me at all. People have disliked me all of my life and this is nothing different. So i talk to myself yes but not all of the time.

you know we do and most of the time we do it without even thinking about it. Stress is one thing but there could be other things. That could bring that on.

I talk to myself a lot. It happens more when I need to talk to someone that I don't want to talk to especially when I am upset about something. Sometimes I talk aloud and sometimes I just mutter under my breath. It depends on where I am and how angry I am. It is usually the things I would say to someone's face if I had the guts to do so.

Yes, I do talk to myself. And sometimes people do hear me. Be it while working, or walking, or just sitting. Sometime I do it for motivating myself. I really don't know why, I talk to myself, but I just can't help it. I guess it's normal. But sometime, I know people that hears and sees me think I am crazy. But I am not, really.

I talk to myself all the time, but not when other people are around (well I hope I don't do it without realising it). Sometimes it seems I can only get a sensible answer from myself.....I live alone too, and I'm a Gemini (sometimes feeling like 2 aspects of one person), and each of my "aspects" love to converse with one another. I'm not really bothered if people think I'm mad...I see it as more of a problem for them than for me LOLOL.
