You have one day of freedom. How will you spend it?

Imagine that for just one day you had no responsibilities at all. No homes and families. No work, nothing. What you do have is 24 hours to do as you will with. There are a few conditions: 1. You are on your own 2. You must not stay in the house for more than 8 hours 3. You have as much money as you need 4. You can break taboos and laws, no one will ever know 5. You may not kill anyone So what is it to be. For myself, I am off hunting for missing family in Leicestershire.

Hmmm, I'm imagining. I thought this was going to take a little more thought but your conditions have made it easier. I would probably go for a walk along the canal. I'd struggle to think of a way to spend money as I am so used to not. I would possibly hire a helicopter or something like that. I'd possibly visit all my local relatives (if that's allowed as one rule is you're on your own). I'd also hunt down my friend who has been "missing" for a while just to make sure he's ok. Then I'd buy really big house (you said money was unlimited) and have it exactly as I wanted before finishing the day and bringing my boys back to me! This isn't relevent but I'm here so I'll ask you. I don't supposed you know which place comes up on where I live on my profile do you? I think it only says United Kingdom. I was just wondering.

According to your mother I am supposed to tell you off for being cheeky to me. But I like you too much to do that!! Interesting choice. Which canal is my thought, but then I looked at your profile and it says UK. So that narrows it down a bit! Followed the link to your blog however, and I see that you are in Bedworth, so it must be one of several: Ashby, Coventry, or Oxford. My family come from Ashby and I grew up near Oxford and married a girl from Sutton Coldfield. You live in a lovely area. I spend quite a lot of time up there, well a bit further north in and about Ashby, but I am fond of that part of the World. I live in Salisbury if you were wondering. Where was I. I think hunting for a friend is a lovely idea. I think that with my magic wand we would make that one happen! Big house. Why not. Enjoy your day.

I usually choose the Coventry canal and sometimes the Oxford. It used to always be the Ashby but now I live nearer the other end, it's easier to get on the Coventry. I want to walk the entire length of the Coventry/Oxford canal. I believe I have walked the full lenght of the Coventry canal but not necessarily all at once. I saw on your profile that you are from Salisbury. Somewhere I have always wanted to go. Well, actually I'm more interested in Aylesbury. Me and my sister tried to get there and got lost. Her car didn't want to exit the West Midlands!

Aylesbury is about 80 miles from Salisbury. You are probably nearer than I am. Must be something or someone special, because I have never found a reason to go there unless I have absolutely had to. I can understand you sister's car not wanting to leave the West Midlands. If we didn't live here as happily as we do I would be very tempted to move up to somewhere like Leamington Spa + 10 miles or so. Or to Ashby.

As I can't stay at home I would travel to Silverstone and race round the track on a Ducati then go for a pampering session at a local Spa, helicopter back to Devon and enjoy a really scrumptius Keliftiko at one of my favourite Greek restaurants followed by a few drinks and then bed for undisturbed sleep except for dreams of an enjoyable day. Oh I love British Superbikes more than I do the Formula one and my real grandfather, who I never met was a racer himself at Brooklands many moons ago. Like you with your family I really would love to find out more. The day was for me and as I can't really take a four year old pillion that is what I choose but the girls have gone to tap and ballet lessons on a trike before now, LOL. Ellie :D

Your motor/bike racing interest seems to have passed me by. I am married to a Formula 1 enthusiast who is still struggling to come to terms with the fact that Schumacher M is no longer on the grid. Inevitably Lewis Hamilton is now the pinup in our house. We are gong to a foreign Grand Prix later this year. I don't want to show off, but it's a night race. There, I have done.

That sounds like a wonderful day. I didn't know that you were a motorcycle enthusiast. I used to share a house with someone that had a Ducati. The second shaft driven bike I ever saw (The Honda Goldwing being the first). I like the pampering and meal too. Great choice.

I guess i'd start the day off in a spa, getting a nice bath and a nice hour long massage. Then i'd fly to NS to see my family.. and then i'd eat at all my old favourite resterants and meet up with some old friends. have a few drinks, play some pool, go for a swim, and end the day by going and sleeping in the most fancy smancy hotel i could find and drink myself to sleep ;) ahh no responsibilities would be nice! I'd miss my kids lol.

Oknow I sound really really boring but I would love to fly to Brazil and learn to Salsa! i started learning Salsa quite a few years back before it really took off and then life got in the way! It feels amazing , makes a woman feel sensual and feminine and from what I have been told really makes a man feel , well like a man! lol Dancing to the amazing rythme with an exotic man in the humid Brazilian night! Uh oh think I better stop now - my brain is about half a minute ahead of my typing and I don't really want my response deleted! lol xxx

Well you said total freedom p1ke my darling so I assumed I would be free from my health problems - that was my favourite bit! You know I think I miss dancing even more than my independance - it is great to imagine dancing the night away! lol Ricky martin sang Livin La Vida Loca and it is a song that is great to do a fast salsa to! I have never heard of Ceroc - I am going to go educate myself a bit! xxx

Absolutely you are free of anything and able to do anything. Apparently Ceroc is modern jive. Perhaps it is not quite a fluid as Salsa. I was going to send you a Youtube link, but I couldn't find one that I liked.

You are an amazing woman Mummymo. One minute you are lamenting your restricted mobility, the next you are in Brazil Salsaing the night away. Well good for you. I have seen Salsa (wasn't there a singer that sang "doing La Vida Loco" or something like that. Wasn't that Salsa) and my sister has just enrolled on a Ceroc course. I know that is different, but it is a similar theme. I am waving my magic wand. Enjoy Brazil.

Well, that's an interesting question. Of course I'd spend at least half an hour eating chocolate, that's extremely important. I'd use the A5 like a race track (I don't usually do that, I'm a very careful driver), that could possibly keep me occupied for a couple of hours. I'd look for shiny things, preferably shiny blue things, that would take me possibly two to three hours. I'd end up forgetting what it was I was doing and need to remember again, that'd take up a short amount of time. (I have a three second memory, hence the fish persona!). I think I'd go and have a massage too, a full body aromatherapy massage, then I'd fall asleep for a bit. I'd then fly to Paris and see the Eifle Tower and the Arc De Triumph. Then I'd 'borrow' a Porsch Boxster or 911 and take it for a spin on the Autobahn.....errrm, think that's all I'd do, oh, and at the end of the day, I'd have cup of tea and some more chocolate and sit and watch all three DVDs in the Back to the Future trilogy and possibly some of my other MJF DVDs too. :)

Sorry, I did laugh. ;) I like Toblerone, well, I just like chocolate in general but Cadburys is the absolute best! Oh yes, of course the Neurburg Ring, yup, I'll do that instead and yes, going through Milton Keynes sounds much better than going to Milton Keynes. :)
@p1kef1sh (45681)
2 Apr 08
I am sitting here with a large box of individual Toblerone pieces that someone bought me for Easter. I am not supposed to eat Toblerone because that are unethical (the manufacturers not the chocolate) something to do with Nestle and baby milk. But chocolate we like, in vast quantities. The A5 is usually a solid traffic jam whenever I go onto it, so if you can get it clear, you are more than welcome to race up and down it. There's a lovely piece of dual carriageway through Milton Keynes that just invites racing. There will be no Police, so you won't get caught. The rest sounds dreamy. If you are going onto that autobahn why not go to the Nurburgring. When I lived in Germany I had a spin round that in, don't laugh, my Renault 5! I reached 80 MPH in places. Go for it and enjoy.

I have looked at this discussion like six times now. I am having a hard time coming up with something I would do on my own. The idea of having a completely free day is so foreign to me that I can't even imagine it! lol Oh...I know what I would do if I had unlimited funds to do so. I would go to Michigan and help as many families struggling with their crappy economy as possible. Jobs are scarce and people are losing everything left and right. It is very sad.

I know that things are tough there currently. I think that would be an excellent thing to do. But spend just 15 minutes looking at, listening or smelling something beautiful whilst you are there.

I think i would like to spend a day in full blown nature, somewhere pretty and wonderful, with a some wacky tabbacky and thats it, I would make sure its somewhere that couldnt get boring with some springs to swim in, and trees to go examine, i would love it, I would also like to go diving in the ocean and see all the wonders under the sea, i have never been to the ocean and cant wait to go, i think i could actually stay all day under the sea if i could, that would be awsome, so maybe i would need to find an island that has springs on it so i can go swim in the springs then go scuba diving in the ocean. Awsome.

Probally not, and since i already smoke, maybe i should go without it and have that being part of my freedom. I know i can quit anytime just not ready too yet, but you are very right with a day like this why would we need mind altering things. I would enjoy the day much more feeling every aspect without the fuzzyness smokeing gives you. But now i cant wait till we are set to where i can take a nice vacation in Florida and do some of these things plus i want to go to Disney world and Universal Studios. I also cant wait to swim with the dophins.

You can get the freedom by hard work or just by sitting down, closing your eyes and imagining yourself wherever you want to be. Much less work and a lot cheaper.

if i had a day free with as much money as i wanted i definately would not be at home. i would firstly shop until i dropped, then i would head for the hairdressers/beauticians and get the works from head to toe.then i would dine out to the most expensive place for dinner and then a live show followed by cocktails at some cocktail bar.then i would collapse in a heap from exhaustion.cheers sue
