is .34 cents a day to make payout at the end of a month that has 30 days. Sounds easy right? Well anyone who has been here awhile knows that it is not as easy as it might seem. No it's not hard, but it's not easy at the same time. So with the start of a new month I thought maybe this would be a good incentive to try to reach payout at the end of the month. For me that means trying a little harder. I normally average about 40 to 50 cents a day, but the problem is that I normally don't have time to get on mylot on the weekends. Of course the money is not everything for me on mylot. Yes it is nice. It gives me a little bit of spending money to treat my kids to lunch or buy something I really like. But what I really enjoy is the friends I have made and the great advice I have been given. So here's to the start of a new month and I plan to make it a great one!!!!

That's really something nice to plan on! I've thought about doing that every now and then. But there are days when I've got tons of other things to do that sometimes I can't even go beyond the 30 cents a day. You are right, it's not hard, but it's not that easy either. You just need determination. This is good to motivate especially those who are new in mylot. Those who definitely intend to reach the payout every month.

30 cents a day still isn't bad. I am hoping that this discussion will motivate the new users. I remember what it was like and you could easily get discouraged with the low earnings. The new members just need to remember to keep at it and once the get the knack for it, the earnings come much more easier.

I don't really think it's that hard to average 30 cents a day, just make 15 quality posts and you're set to go.

I'm a newbie. Do you get one cent per entry or how does it work? Are you doing 40 to 50 entries per day? I can't upload pictures and I can't get any referrals if they count.

No one knows exactly how much we get per post. We earn based on the quality of our discussions, how popular they become, the quality of our responses to other's discussions, etc. I normally start anywhere from 2 to 3 discussions a day and respond to about 10 discussions a day. But when I do respond, I always try to respond with a quality response that can add something to the discussion that has been started. It does seem overwelling as a new member, but once you get the hang of it. You will find your own system of doing things and your earnings will show the difference.

I remember when I used to have a lot of free time and worked pretty hard to respond and I would get $1.50 a day. Now that isn't the case. Mylot pays less so I try a lot less. Now I'm lucky to get 5 cents a day.

Well perhaps you take advantage of referrals more than I do. But compared to a year ago, the payout is dismal.

Actually those earnings have no reflections on my referrals. Up until today all 3 referrals I had were completely inactive.

Mylot paying less??? I disagree with you. My earnings are a lot better now than they were 6 months ago. 6 months ago it would take me starting 1 to 2 discussions and responding to approx. 30 to 40 discussions in a day to make 40 to 50 cents a day. Now I only start 2 to 3 discussions, respond to about 5 to 10 discussions, and I am still averaging 40 to 50 cents a day. So now I am doing less work and still making the same amount. Geez, if I were to go back to responding to 30 to 40 discussions a day, could you imagine what my earnings would be?

Good luck in your quest to make payout. I know what you mean though. It sounds simple to get to .34 cents a day, but it really isn't as easy as just that if you have other stuff going on. Some days you just can't find new discussions that peak your interest or you sort of get a writers block and have a hard time with responses. my computer is super slow and I have dial-up so after I type in a response it takes like 20 seconds for me to get to the page where I add the tag and then another 20 or so seconds to get to the next screen. Some days it goes really well though. Like today I'm finding lots of great discussions and those are the kind of days I really enjoy here.

Having a fast computer and a better internet connection always helps. I do have my times of writers block and just not finding any decent discussions to respond to. But that's okay I still enjoy coming here everyday.

Thanks for giving a rough estimate of what we needed to make daily to reach payout every month. I find it very useful. Been here 2 months and have had both good days and bad. I did reach payout for the first time so I am excited. I'm like you, on the weekends I don't have much time to check myLot or post/respond to discussions very often because everyone is home at that time and by night time I am too exhausted to bother.

That's exactly what goes on here. Are you sure we aren't living the exact same life. Weekends are so crazy around here, with the husband and children being at home. Once they go to bed all I want to think about it laying down on the couch and relaxing.

LOL I dunno. Depends on how many kids you got. I got 5 here and half the time I don't make it to lay down on the couch or in the bed, usually fall asleep in the computer chair typing away or playing poker.

I only have 3 kids, but then if you add my husband and the dog that would make 5. Falling asleep at the computer? Now I haven't done that but falling asleep on the couch I am famous for. My husband is always asking me if I am going to make it to bed.

It looks like you are new here. So keep in mind it's not the quantity that matters. It's the quality of your posts that make the difference in your earnings. When you post a quality response you are 10 times more likely to be rated positive and when you are rated that increases your earnings as well. I used to post 50 responses back when I was a newbie and was getting about 50 cents a day. My problem with that was because I was trying so hard to hit 50 posts everyday that the quality of my posts weren't that good. When I stopped trying so hard to get that many in and started focusing on the quality of my posts, even if that meant only 10 responses in a day, my earnings have greatly increased. Best of luck!

You are very welcome for the help. You don't earn just for posting. Everything you do effects your earnings. Like: rating discussions and users, marking best responses, adding images, commenting on responses you get to your discussions, commenting on others responses that have been left on discussions, etc. So really there are tons of ways to boost your earnings. Like a lot of veteran mylotters will tell you, the key to it is patience, time, and quality. Best of luck!

Thanks for the help, I will try to put more into some of my posts, I assumed that you just have to post to get the $$, I never knew that you had to put great detail or a whole lot of though and this whole rating thing. I guess if I could put more in I could really help someone and earn $$ doing it! Sounds like a job for me!

Don't you just hate it when you get soooo close to payout and don't make it? I have had that happen to me more times then I really care to admit. It is frustrating but the friends I have made (yourself included) well makeup for that frustration. I thought you had been away a bit lately. I haven't had the pleasure of reading your responses to my discussions. Glad to know you are still around and back. Hugs to you too!!!

I was hoping to reach payout this month too. Well, like you, I only need few cents a day in order to make it to this month's payout. Well, it seems easy but it's not really easy nor difficult. Since it's my vacation, I'll be having enough time to earn enough money to be able to reach payout this month. However, me and my friends are planning to apply for a summer job and my worries are I won't be able to log-in to MyLot as I have before. I think I really need to balance my time even if it's vacation.

I agree, it is not as easy as it may seem. I tend to average 10 to 20 cents a day, though some days it is more or less (usually less LOL). I've never made payout in one month's time (heck, I haven't even made it in 2 months time LOL), but I never really worried about it. I just do the best I can. It's not the money that keeps me coming back to mylot, that is for certain! Though at the same time the little bit I get is nice.

When I first started it would take me about 2 months to make payout each time. Then I became inactive for awhile around the holidays. But since I have been back, things are really picking up and I am working on making payout by the end of the month. I am waiting for my payout for March, so this is the perfect opportunity to see if I can make the full $10 in one months time. Best of luck!

Actually, you are right as it can seem really hard to make 34 cents per day here at times. However, I have noticed that it seems that my earnings are getting better and that mylot may be increasing the pay for quality discussions and so I think it will get easier. I am close to making payout so I know that I will make it in April. I am hoping to make close to $20 this month as I need the money for vacation.

You know it does seem like they are paying more for quality now than they have in the past. In the past it would take me responding to close to 50 discussions to make around 35 cents. Now I normally only respond to about 10 discussions and start maybe 2 a day and I am making about 35 cents a day. Of course the quality of my responses has greatly increased as well. I could just imagine if I got back into doing 50 posts a day, what my earnings would be. I do hope you are able to make $20 by the end of April.

That is true you have to be here other than just the added bonus otherwise it is no fun if you just do it for the small change. I think it is great that it is offered for its members but it is also a lot more than that and that is why many keep coming back for more I think. It is a great place to express yourself and be heard and also people are really nice and helpful here too.

So true!!! It's funny the main reason I joined mylot was because of the money. But now, the reason I come back everyday is because of the friendships I have made. The money is just an added bonus. I started this discussion because I see alot of people complaing that it's too hard to make payout. So I thought if people could see how little it really takes everyday that might be a good incentive to try just a little harder.

money - bundles of money
yeah sound so easy but its not that easy but if you just enjoy the discussions and post lots of responses then you're on your way to a payout in no time...dont think too much in earning but just go with the flow and enjoy the topics being discussed and participate more and also post more discussions and of course for faster earnings invite more too, referrals make the most to earn faster because your referrals earnings you get commissions too...

Yes there is alot to figure out to make your experience with mylot the best. But it's not hard, it just takes time and patients. Don't give up and keep at it and I am sure you will make your goals.

Thanks from another newbie here! Sounds like all i have to do is be diligent about this and hang in there and try to make a goal and keep working at it each month. Now does that mean if i don't make ten dollars it carries over to the next month?? If so thats fine with me too! Thanks for the info for us new ones!

Yes, if you don't make the $10 it will carry over to the next month. So you won't lose any of your earnings and have to start over fresh.

Weekends are generally slow for me as well. I am not home very much and when I am my husband whines if I am on the computer too long. This makes posting very difficult. If I get even a few cents a day on Saturday and Sunday I see this as a success. During the week I have a bit more time. I usually make payout every other month but I do not glue myself to my computer. I am going to try and make payout again this month though because I am trying to save up a summer fund to have some fun with the kids when they get out of school.

Okay I think we have the same husband. LOL! My husband is all time saying "all you do is sit on the computer". Okay whatever. So if I am sitting at the computer all day, then how is the laundry getting done, the kids getting to school and home, dinner being cooked, etc. I may be talented at some things, but I am not that talented to be able to do all that and never leave the computer.

34ยข a day I don't think is that hard if you have quality posts and do your repsonses and comment to others. Thing is, the time to put in to it. I cash out with $17 this month, had several low days but as many over a buck or pretty near a buck days. but still, on ly $17, not $20. I do spend alot of time and do all the right things and do the responses nad mark best response and comment to others and friends. But then again, I am only 4 months "old" so it is all catching up so maybe April will be my $20 month! ALlyou can do is keep doing what you know to do and hope for the best!

if you are good in making quality posts and always find words to respond any kind of discussion, perhaps it will become really easy. however, some internet connection (without any downtime) will be needed in order to make such posts quality everyday. we cannot know how much we would earn during the day. so for some people who don't know the basic 'calculation' about how a post is called a quality post, they would get some trouble in even making 34 cents each day. sometimes there are days when - for some people - it is just difficult to find suitable discussions to respond. because not everyone have the knowledge for certain discussions. some might know but found difficulties in building words or sentences to make quality post. anyway, maybe like some old members said "live and learn" :P
