Have you tried mineral makeup?

I rep for a company that sells mineral makeup (check my profile), but I have never tried it. Have you? If you have, what do you like about it? How different is it from regular makeup?
I don't wear a lot of makeup, but my daughter does, and she breaks out with cover girl, so she has to be careful with what she wears. This is why I never bought any.
If you have tried Mineral Makeup, what are your reviews on it?
Thanks and have a great day

We love it!! It is so much better on my daughters face... she loves the eyeshadows and has been giving make overs to her friends! lol
You really should try it!

I have tried it and I like it. I feel that it is more fresh than other makeup and doesn't feel as heavy! You should try it if you are going to sell it.
Check out my profile as my daughter and I sell mineral makeup for teens.

I sell it too. I break out with a lot of makeup, so I really wasn't sure about the mineral makeup

i like it so far, i have really sensitive skin, the mary kay version makes me break out, pretty much everything mary kay does has that affect, but i love the maybelline mineral make up i'm using right now, its super light, long lasting and not too expensive.. my sister works for mac and she even loves my maybelline!

I had to laugh when I read your post. You rep for a company that sells mineral makeup but you haven't tried it? Don't you think that you should give it a try so that you know what you are selling?
Personally, I love my mineral makeup. I actually buy it directly from a woman that makes it herself. It works lovely, I don't feel all "painted" and I am not breaking out with it.
I recommend that you give it a try if for no other reason then to be able to tell your customers how you like it, not the typed up stuff that the company tells you.

Thank you. I understand, I would laugh too
I didn't buy it because I break out when I wear makeup and I wasn't sure if it was something my daughter could use.
I will have to buy some. We have a sale today, maybe I might get some to surprise her.
I am just not sure of the color of powder to get.
Thanks

I sell Avon, and I use their line of mineral makeup- I LOVE IT!!! It is easy to apply (a dusting on the brush and use CIRCULAR motion) and looks almost flawless. I have used the foundation, eye shadow and transparent powder (like a finishing powder). My mom also uses the blush but I haven't tried that, yet, I don't wear it often and JUST bought a new blush stick before trying the mineral makeups.

In the brand you sell, I would say honey beige, beige or cocoa depending on the skin's undertones. Hard to tell on the internet and with not seeing the skin in person. If you are asking about Avon stuff, almond or bisque, probably, again depending on the undertones. Mineral makeups are often blended (a lighter and darker) to get the perfect shade.
You may not break out with the mineral stuff...might be worth a try.

I don't wear much makeup but I bet mineral makeup would work very well. My daughter wears alot of makeup too but none of it is mineral that I know of. I just asked my duaghter if she kjnew of anyone at school who wears mineral makeup and she said yes. She said they use it because it lasts longer and makes their skin look more purer.

You have to get some mineral makeup for your daughter. I always had breakouts until I started wearing mineral makeup. I'm not kidding. Even my blackheads went away. I read at Paula Begoun's website that while she isn't a fan of mineral makeup (she called it the latest fad years ago), she had to admit that it will improve your skin because all of the gunky stuff isn't there. I can't understand why the companies don't take all that nasty stuff out of the liquid foundation, then!
I started using L'Oreal's Bare Naturale mineral makeup foundation. This is fairly decent but definitely not nearly as good as Bare Escentuals.
L'Oreal's foundation runs $10 while Bare Escentuals is $25. The difference is, L'Oreal's mineral makeup is thick and you can really see it on your face. Bare Escentuals is very light and blends in perfectly with your skin.
You only need the tiniest amount with Bare Escentuals. It takes some getting used to, using the brush & blending it in, but it's so worth it. Once you're used to the application, it will take you seconds to apply your foundation. Another thing I love is that I no longer have liquid foundation goop all over my fingers in the morning. With Bare Escentuals, I don't look like I have a thick spackle of foundation on my skin. It has really made a huge difference.
I have read reviews for Avon's mineral foundation that say it's excellent and it's under $10. Lately I have used some of Avon's products and they are pretty good. I'd like to try their mineral makeup sometime.
I love Bare Escentuals so much that I went back and purchased the warmth (blush/all over face color), the mineral veil and the eyeliner. I don't recommend the eyeliner so much. It's a powder. If you apply it dry, it gets all over your cheeks and doesn't last very long. If you apply it wet, it still doesn't last. The warmth is great, although it doesn't last that long. The mineral veil is absolutely wonderful. It's a transparent powder that sets your makeup and gives you a matte finish without looking too powdery.
Neutrogena just came out with a new line of mineral foundation (Mineral Sheers Powder) that is the only mineral foundation with antioxidants in it. It's in a pressed powder form and you should be able to find it for about $10-13.
I've read good reviews about Physician's Formula's mineral foundation as well, which is also around the same price.

icyorchid, you are a riot, you sell makeup and you don't know what you are selling. That is so funny. And you are asking somone to tell you about colors. You need to try these things and be able to advise your customers honey. Even if you say, I personally do not favor the minerals and like a liquid foundation better, but this is how it works. Usually the minerals do not break you out. If you can get a sample you can try it on a small spot on your cheek and see what happens. Not having Bismuth is an advantage, many women find that is itchy. You would want to put a primer and a moisturizer on underneath. I use two different moistuizers or squalane.
If you would like to take a crash course on some of these issues go to QVC website, the beauty main page and look to the bottom left and see a forum called Beauty Beat. The gals talk about everything. I have learned so much from them it is amazing.
Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way. You really gave me a giggle.

Why do you recommend it, if you have never tried it?
I have tried mineral makeup. I dont think it is anything really special but it covers evenly and is quite natural looking. I think because it is natural it is great for sensetive skin types.

I have tried mineral makeup, did like it, makes your face look very natural, like you have no makeup on, but you look great. But it cost a lot more.
