The movie should, I think try to show that the authors respect the religion of these Hindus. That is only respect. Hindus meanwhile, should understand that the movie appears to be a comedy. It is not reasonable to suppose that the intent of the movie makers is to insult a whole religion, but rather to make people laugh. If the movie does seem insulting to the Hindus, then I'd be of a divided mind, really. On one hand, I hope they are not so radical as certain other faiths -- you know, like Christianity which tried to ban the Golden Compass. On the other hand, I do not think it is funny to insult people, either. Perhaps, if they feel slighted, the Hindus can be given the opportunity to explain their rituals in a documentary of some kind. It certainly seems, if the movie is insulting, that it would be a reason and an occasion to explain their religion to other people. Kind of like how the Catholic groups published attacks on the "Da Vinci Code" as if it intended to be a historical documentary instead of a movie to entertain.

Awwww. That is unreal. Mike Meyers movies are funny sometimes. I really don't think he means to offend anyone with them at all. I like some of his movies that he plays in. I think it is all in good fun also.
