Do you limit the time your children spend watching TV?

Fortunately, we haven't had to do that with our daughter yet. She's pretty good about limiting the television she watches. We have it on all day for her but she'll only watch for a few minutes at a time then go play.

That's good because mine will sit there until I either turn it off or say go play.

I definitely monitor. How much do you allow each day?

Yep, I do the same as well. They are only allowed 2 hours of tv time a day, they don't have to be at the same time so they usually watch a hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon after homework is done.

It's not really an issue during the week because we have so much to do. It generally slows down a bit on the weekend and they really enjoy watching, but a lot of times I find myself saying that's enough...find something else to do.

Yes we should. Sometimes, a lot of people tend to use the TV as a baby sitter for their kids. Which when over exposed to TV, can't be healthy for a kid. The first 2 years of life are considered a critical time for brain development. TV and other electronic media can get in the way of exploring, playing, and interacting with parents and others, which encourages learning and healthy physical and social development. Most of children's free time, especially during the early formative years, should be spent in activities such as playing, reading, exploring nature, learning about music or participating in sports. Without the distraction of TV, you can have a good bonding time with your family. Just be creative, it won't be boring I assure you.
