Recent cases have brought nanny cams into the headlines
Some states allow video recording, but not audio recording without consent
Experts and courts are split over whether nannies should be informed
Just imagine what happens to kids when there aren't any video cameras and no one is watching.
Do you trust your baby sitters and teachers?

I just cannot trust people these days for nothing. Nusring homes are prime examples also. I would have a very hard time trusting anyone with my child. I had some bad experiences with my daughter when she was growing up and had to go to daycares. she is now 16 and I feel so sorry for her when she has a child. I may have to babysit for her if I can so she does not have to let strangers take care of it.

i don't have baysitters. i trust no one with my kids, which i know can be bad cuz i never do anything with out my kids. my oldest is in school and i have met all his teathers before he goes to school. with this being a small town we know most of them. the teather he has right now is a teather i had in school. she is very nice and i liked her in school so i guess i do trust her.

it really depends. but the video is a good thing so that parents can monitor what their sitters are doing to the kids. i don't think that they need the sitters' consent, as after all, it is their house. but are there laws regarding it?
good day to you

I am a preschool teacher and have been a nanny in the past. I am also a mother. A friend of mine watches my daughter while I work and I watch her daughter while she works. I trust her completely so I do not feel the need to have a nanny cam. But if I had to hire someone I did not know I would most likely want a nanny cam. If she was in a daycare I would want cameras in the rooms. I used to work in a center where we had cameras in the classroom that were shown on televisions in the main office. I always felt comfortable with that. I feel that nannies should have no problem with nanny cams. If they are doing everything they are supposed to be doing and not harming the children then have nothing to hide. Although the nanny should be informed of the camera. Just my oponion.
