7 hours in the ER. Thank goodness I was not dying.

If I was bleeding bad I probably would have. I went in last night before 10 o'clock and left this morning at 5 o'clock! I called a nurse hotline and the lady said that I could have necrosis, which is when skin tissue dies and turns black. So I was scared to death and waited 7 hours to find out thank goodness it was not necrosis but that I need to go to a doctor to find out what it was. This is what the DOCTOR in the ER told me. So, I guess I need a 2nd opinion.

That is a long time to be at the Hospital, but that is the way it usually is, that is why I don't like to go to Hospital, I was in the Hospital Friday night, but I didn't stay long the took care of me right away. I was there for at least 2 hours, they were very Through. Yes always get an second opinion.

It is rediculas how much they make you wait in ER's. If they find they don't have enough beds, then they should get more. My daughter had to go to the emergency room last week twice, we had to wait more than 2 hours both times. The second ER finally called my daughter in and she had to lay in a bed in a hall way. That was very annoying.

The entire healthcare industry is in desperate need of reform. I was 6mos prego with contractions and sat in the ER for three hours before leaving and going elsewhere. Its a shame how poor the healthcare system has become.

It is a crappy health system we have but it is also do to the lack of doctors and nurses in the field. We are in dire need of more. And until wait times will still be the same. When you go in it all depends on the severity of what your symptoms are. A few years ago I went in with extreme stomach crapping. Being a girl they thought ovaries twisted, appendix etc with it being the stomach it is alot higher than say someone who came in with a sore foot. Of course I am going to get in there asap. I waited 30 minutes got in evaulated by the doctor and off for xrays, ct scan and ultrasound. Another instance I was brought in on a stretcher due to a car accident. After the general admiting they took me right back as they see blood from my forehead dripping down. Instantly that would be classed higher than some of the others that were in there. I was in an out in 2 hours. I went in due to a knee injury I waited 6 hours before seeing a doctor to give me some pain killers that didn't do anything wrapped my leg and sent me home with crutches to go see my regular doctor in a few days. That case was minor to the others I have been taken in for. All cases as soon as they get to general admitting area are given a classification of their symptoms and injuries.
