Why the heck are folks so addicted to reality t.v.?

Are you one of them? I feel like I am the only one who doesn't watch a single one of those shows. I have friends who tape shows if they would miss it, just like sports junkies. They don't even want to hear or see anything about it just so they could see the results themselves. I think it's crazy, but maybe if I gave it a chance. It just doesn't seem appealing
at all and why are they so famous afterwards? Are you wondering like me or am I just out of the loop?
Get me back in the loop, but I don't want to be.

I decided to post on this topic because I watch a couple reality shows. Top Chef is a cooking show where chefs cook a dish and its judged and somebody goes home that didn't do the dish well. I have now made several of the dishes and watch to get ideas for new dishes to try making now. I'm not concerned if I miss an episode and never tape the show. Bravo runs every episode many times, so nobody needs to ever consider taping it.
Another show I have watched a long time is Project Runway, which is also on the Bravo Channel. It airs many times and they make clothes. I enjoy seeing well designed clothes and always want to be dressed well for any business meeting. The show helps me know what is in style and what should leave my closet right away.
I watch Amazing Race to see places that I may never have a chance to ever see. The teams travel to many different countries and its a chance to see how other people live and survive in some very hard conditions. I learn about Geography and each country that they visit I hunt for more information about that country on the internet. I also visit CBS and look at the map of the traveled countries.

Yes, I agree with you that there are some reality shows that seem descent. It's just the craze that is confusing to me. What about the modeling show? Now that one is weird. Anyways, if I were to watch any reality shows, the ones you listed are the exact ones I would watch.

Oh dear, put my hand up in shame, I am one of those who can get seriously addicted to the reality soaps, Big Brother is the only one though. Although that is bad enough ha ha. I do not for the life of me know why some of them get so famous though after. I tell you now, if I was on it I would be booted out in the first week and probably be the most hated woman in the world!

I am a reality tv junkie. I have to tape the show so I don't miss it. I have no life, I don't go out, my life is my kids, I have 4 kids, 5 and under so after dealing with them all day, I spend the evening winding down and watching tv. If you don't like reality tv then thats great, I wouldn't try to like it just to please others. If you don't watch reality tv, you probably watch less tv and thats a good thing!
