When you start a discussion do you always select an interest? Or you just start it as general discussion? I have seen in my initial days most of the discussions were started in General discussion category. I also did not added much interest then. now i always starts in cert6ain interest.

Mostly I start in a certain interest, I think that would be more effective in terms of people finding it and also for categorizing it.

I like to start new discussions according to my interest. Most of the topics follow my most favorite interests like question and answer, mylot.com, people, life and so on. It is easier to create discussion of our own interest rather than on topics I am not familiar with. When doing responses I like to pick discussions from question and answer most of the time.

when I first started out on mylot, and was still very confused about how it worked - I started everything under general. Using general did not generate many replies, if any. If someone did not catch the discussion as a new discussion and get interested in answering - it quickly fell into the depths of mylot archives. Too bad, there were some good topics there. I now place everything in an interest category.

I don't think I have ever started a discussion in the general discussion category. Whenever I started a discussion, I already had what interest it went under in mind. I think it gets more views if a discussion is in a particular interest anyway, which gives it a better chance to be responded to.

Before, I started a discussion under generel category and then soon found out to add some interests. As of the moment I am trying to post a new discussion under some interest.

most of the time, i prefer to have discussion in my interest but if i can't find in my interest then i will go to general discussion so i think it would depend on the topic discussion that i am gonna make it. its not always in my interest section but mostly it is in my interest section

Yes. I always start all of my discussions in an interest unless I cannot find a good interest to start it in. I have started a few discussions in the general interest because it just did not seem to fit anywhere else. I have alot of interests added but need to add some more in time to make a wider range of topic areas.

I start in my discussion keeping in view the 'interest' category. Most of the time, when I start my discussion, I find that 'people category' is the most suited interest category to my discussions. I also love to start discussions in the category of 'relationship', life' and cricket etc.

Hello dear subha. When I was here on my initial days, I always chose general discussion in the hope that the discussions would be later catagorized by mylot admin. But now if I start a new discussion, I will look for the the interest where I am supposed to start my discussion based on what I am talking about. I am more oriented now.

I have not started a discussion this past few days since I haven't got much to time to go online. But yes, as I start a discussion, I often start from my interest. I also try to add more interest every time I am being asked if I want to add such interest after posting a reply to some post.

I start most of my discussions in certain interests category which interests me.Though i have had some discussions initiated in general category too but I feel if you start it in a specific interest it becomes easier for the others and also for you.I am just of the view that it works better than having had a discussion started in general category!

i always start discussions under a certain interest. however, like you, when i was a beginner, i used to start discussions under the general interest category. no wonder it got less responses. i have only learned the importance of starting it under a certain interest much later on.

Yes. I like to start a new discussion in an interest. However, if my discussion has nothing to do with the interest, then I will put it as general discussion. I love China

Yes i start discussions in an interest.whenever i have a question in mind i go to the particular interest and say start discussion.i think its better to start discussions in the same category or we may not get responses or our discussion would be deleted.
