Do You Know Anyone Who Can't read or Write?

I don't know of anyone personally who cannot read and write, but I am very sure that there are many of them. English was my favorite subject in school too. I loved spelling also. I do not see how they can even make it in society without being able to read and write.

I am Indian and i feel ashamed to say that even in this age there are more than 30% of the Indian population who are illiterate despite all efforts of the India government.but as regards the qualified people do not know writing or even reading as you said really surprised me.how could it be possible,how they could pass the high school exams and entered the college?it is really a mystery.I don't think so happened in any part of the world.thank you.

I dont know if they are that bad they can read a word, but i know a surprising amount of people who cant read and write. I dont know why they didn't learn to do it, some couldn't and some didn't try but they dont want to learn now.
