Is it just me or is the Post Office stamps getting crazy..I was told in May they are going up again 1 cent..so if you bought the Forever stamp..no problem otherwise you will have to add a penny stamp to the ones you already have. I go to the PO alot since I belong to a swap/trade site and mail alot of things out to others and that extra penny will add up. Whats your view on this???

I hardly ever use postage stamps anymore. I pay just about all my bills online or at the local office. I correspond by email instead of sending letters. I think that most people do it that way now and the post office is going broke because of it so they have to keep raising the price of stamps to make up for it.

Hi Luvstochat I try to do as much as possible online to pay bills but i was raised to corespond by writing letters to family and friends and my Mother wouldn't even know how to work a computer lol..i also love to send out BD cards to people just in case they never get one from anyone so guess the PO has me forever to keep them going lol.

i used to get the stamps from the post office.Last year i bought more stamps and in the month of may they increased it by 2 cents. So bought 2 cents stamp to make 39 cents to 41.Now again if they change it by 1 cent then i have to buy some 1 cent stamps. But thank god i am having only 4 0r 5 39 cents still.Inorder to balance the extra overheads they are levying extra cents on us.we have to accept and no other way.

Hi mythmoh I sure hope this isn't going to be a yearly thing now..and i guess we all need to have 1 cent and 2 cent stamps on us from now on.

Well, it is not like their fuel prices are any cheaper than ours. But it still blows chunks. I still think that I have some one penny stamps that I got from one of their vending machines; the machine coughed out your change in penny stamps. The only people who will be happy about this are stamp collectors. It means that tehir collection goes up in value. Personally, it makes me unhappy. I am a freelance writer, and this increase is an increase in my business expenses. Yuch!

Hi Morgandrake Congrats and good luck on all your writings! Too bad you can't ask for an expense account and count all them extra pennies in postage to them lol. I'm sure you are right about the stamp collectors gaining and maybe the clerks in a nice hefty bonus.

I had an account with stamps.com but it wasn't worth paying the subscription fee since I'm not mailing eBay packages any longer. I printed stamps for the few cents that was left in my account and then canceled it. I need to buy some forever stamps the next time I'm out. I keep forgetting to go to the post office!

Ugh, so sick of having to go buy penny stamps. I just bought a bunch of stamps, too. Unfortunately, it wasn't the forever ones. I don't use the Post Office for anything other than mailing bills and letters now and I only mail bills if I absolutely have to. If I can pay it online, I do. If I have to send a package, I am going to start using UPS. Screw the USPS.
