I feel like such an IDIOT!

Most of my friends know my hectic schedule, but this is even too ridiculous for comfort. My site (visitorinvasion.com) went down and I couldn't figure out why. I check paypal to see that my hosting is paid, and it is, automatically as normal for the last 4 years. I emailed the server hosts (great guys, they are ON it, ya know?) and was very kindly told that I had forgotten to renew my domain!! OY!! No, double OY!! I can't believe it. I have a mass mail to send today, and can send it everywhere but to VI, where the customer purchased the ad. This is great, ain't it? My poor clients. I'm glad I did a backup a couple of weeks ago...yeah, I know, I should be doing it every day. OY!! To the webmasters and webmistresses out there, has this happened to you and what were the adverse effects on your business and your actual site functionality? Holy cow! I can't believe I've done this!!

They do, but in their defense (because that was my fault too), I never updated my information. I've moved and changed my number twice since I purchased that domain, and still never had a problem. My original business email is not loading for some reason, and NameAlerts (the domain place I use) was one of the few places (because I'm sure I've spaced some that I don't use often) I forgot to change my email information. OY! I'm just glad the site is back up. Thanks for coming by, diansinta. Your support is appreciated.

I used to own my own website also but I didn't have it up and running for very long to really have to worry about any of those things much. I never missed out on paying for my fees. I'm sure I would have forgotten some things over time though because life is so hectic and it is so very hardto keep up with everything these days.

Tell me about it. :D It only cost me an extra 5 bucks for renewing late, and I should consider myself lucky someone else didn't snap it up and hold it for ransom, lol...sounds crazy, I know, but I know people it has happened to. I'm going to have to remember to pick up a day planner and a wall calendar. To much on the plate to remember naturally anymore. Thanks for stopping by, Stephi. I appreciate the support.

*cue giant sweatdrop in the back of the head* (anime reference) Uh. I hope you get VI.com back in order asap. Don't kick yourself over not backing up too much. At the very least you can take this lesson to heart for the future. =3 Oh and also watch the domain payment a bit more carefully! Good luck to you VI!

We are back up, but the mass email function doesn't appear to be working. *wiping sweat off forehead with a big "whew"* It doesn't appear I have lost anyone, and there are a ton of sites to approve. Soon there will be more convenience to the site as well. Hoping the email function is fixed shortly. I have never missed a domain payment before. This is crazy. Time to buy a calendar...or at least print off free ones and tape them to the wall, lol. Good to see ya Gamer...it's been a while. *Tipping cuppa joe to Gamer in thanks of support.*
