Does your dog shed a lot of hair?

Dogs go through shedding times in the spring and fall. They also loose puppy coats and after a heat cycle. Short hair dogs actually shed more than long hair dogs. They seem to shed all the time. If a dog is an inside dog the shed all the time also it seems. Sometimes there is a vitamin def. ask your vet about that. There are vitamins you can get over the counter for skin and coat that helps with shedding.

We have a big black dog; he lookis kind of like a blacklab but with long hair, and he sheds a tonnnnn. It helps a lot if I brush and bathe him regularly. :]

Mine has shed a lot for quite some time now. First it was him losing his puppy coat, then he starting getting his adult coat and was still losing a fair bit, and he's just started changing to summer coat so now it's even more than usual. I'm hoping he'll shed a bit less once he has the whole adult coat in but I know he'll always be a moderate to heavy shedder. But he's so cute with his (soon-to-be) long coat so I don't really mind, I just have to vacuum more often and brush him outside every day.

I do not have a dog anymore but when I did, I had the same problem with dog hair, I do not know where it all come from as she was a short haired dog but she was forever shedding. I used to take her outside everyday and brush her, she loved being brushed especially on her back, she would let me brush her for ages! But even though she was brushed she still seemed to shed all the time!

Hi footprints Yes My doggie sheds and with the summer coming up, he will lose alot of hair soon..so i plan on giving him a good groom before this happens and then i can handle him near my couch again LOL.
