I really don't want to be rich but to have enough money to live comfortably would be very nice. I am working seven days a week right now and barely getting by. I do not think it is a necessity to be rich but more money to pay for things and buy the things we have to have would be nice.

You're welcome. I am glad that I could help you out a little bit. That isn't right that women leave you just because of money. It takes more than money to have love and respect for one another in a relationship. I work seven days a week online so it is easy for me to work with Mylot as well. It isn't important to be rich, I just want to live comfortably and survive without having to struggle all of the time and do without alot of things.

Hi steph, I salute you for still being able to concentrate and commit yourself to mylot despite being busy working 7 days a week. I honestly respect your opinion and think that to be having lots of $ is truly an added bonus in life. It is definitely not a necessity thanks for enlightening me on this topic. But I do wonder at times when women left me because during the time I wasn't having a stable job, they said that they need me to be having lots of $$$ to be more secured. And they chose guys that have $$$ more than me. So, that was why I was wondering how important it is to be rich in life, and whether even your relationship(s) depend much on it. Thanks for your time in answer my discussion, really appreciate it so much..

Hi Zed...ive no wishes to become rich ...and no im not kidding you.... If tomorrow someone put a bag on my doorstep containing a fortune...I would have to ask myself what parts of my life would i want to use the money to change??? Well the answer would be..that at this stage in life ..i wouldnt want to change very much at all!!......yes maybe it would be pleasant to go and eat out a lttle more....but my life is fine!....and its taken many years to discover this!!!lol....Thers no amount of money that can buy relative peace of mind...thank god..reasonably good health...thank gos also..all my faculties... Wealth isnt a necessity to be happy...it can be seen as a hindrance very often!! Im not saying there havent been times in my life when i have actually wished i had a few more pennies....but on the whole...I will stay the way I am.....what about you????

Hello ruby, I thank you for giving an answer the best you know and truthfully from your heart. I agree that our core being is the most important thing and that being rich with $ is just an added factor to it. It is like a good incentive to be having lots of money but it definitely is not the MOST important thing in life. Thanks for your answer..

They say money can't buy happiness but hey let me try first before I come to that conclusion hey! I would love to be rich, providing that being rich doesn't come hand in hand with fame! I would hate to be followed everywhere and have a name associated with richness because I would be targetted and my life wouldn't be private. So yes I would love to be rich but with anonymity. To be able to travel to places I can only dream of travelling to. To own a luxury house and never have to worry about bills or budgets again, yes please!

No. I just want to earn enough for my family and have a simple life. I don't think it's necessary. Sometimes, it's not good to be rich because only a few rich man remember God and fear Him like Job.

Thanks clowdine .. I think you are absolutely right that people tend to forget themselves and get big-headed after getting rich. I've seen it happening to a lot of people surrounding my life .. and I pray that I will not succumb to that someday should I get rich..

Depends on rich definition. Per my definition, I am very rich. I have doctorate degree, I know few languages and I have huge knowledge about many fields. I have passion in my life and I am lucky to have great family. Money are just for an exchange. It is an illusion of power. I am dreaming about Self Sufficient Life with own energy and food source. We are born naked and we are leaving this Earth naked. Money are not devil and is good to have it, but money alone are not making you rich.

First of all, let me read again. You have a Doctorate Degree.........??? WOW, AMAZING...seriously. For someone as intelligent as that, you are still mingling here in mylot, I have that much respect for you. And a bilingual one at that. I hope you don't mind me asking, why do you surround yourself with mylot?? Just to know the reason. You are super-intelligent and it's certainly refreshing to know someone like you willing to join in a forum site like this and share your experiences. Don't get me wrong yeah, I just would like to see your answer on this. I like that quote: Money is just an illusion of power, WOW!! Can I take that and use it on my blog?? . I'd like to borrow the quote and make something out of it. You are certainly knowledgeable and I'm going to put a mental note to take a look at your other discussions, ha! Take care and have a good remaining there..not sure what the time is though.

Rich, well financially I would rather say I would like to know I would be more than secure later on and have enough money to help my kids IF they needed (though I would make them work for it but... they COULD always run into trouble down the road like anyone) but its more important to me to be truly happy which hasn't happened yet. And one thing I have realized is that money does not buy happiness.

Thanks for your response, I think you are a very honorable person, to have that kind of mindset to be "secured" in life so that you could offer a hand in help to your kids should they end up in dire straits someday. I think that it's great to have extra money for saving in times like these, which I call "rainy days". It is not hurtful to get rich, but hopefully we know how to make full use of it, or rather, make full use of saving it for difficult days down the road. And I totally 100% agree with you that money does not buy you happiness. In fact, money just play a role in developing your happiness, but at the end of the day, it's "us" that shape ourselves to be happy. Thanks again and have a nice day ;)

I want to become rich of course! LOL,but it's not a necessity for me, what is necessary is to have a happy family and nice salary to meet all the needs and wants! But given the chance to become rich why not? with all the luxury in life plus you can each out other by helping them with your money!

It depends on what you mean by rich. If you mean money, a certain amount is necessary in order to have to level of comfort required to learn and study and know things. But money alone will not ensure a person's survival. One much have good physical healthy and a good attitude and wisdom. Money will not buy these things. In fact, often people find that too much money gets in the way of people's being able to have and keep these things. I can truly say most of my dreams already have been fulfilled, but I don't dream for excess, just for what is needed to live well and continue learning an d growing.

Thanks, drannhh, I love the avatar in your page by the way ;) ...I think you are truly right in saying that it's better not to dream for excess, because it doesn't mean that things will be fulfilled once you have too much $$. Perhaps people are influenced by the life of celebrities and the likes who are rich and have lots of money. They probably look happy and leading a very rich and satisfying life from the tabloids, but I think that in real life, they are probably none too happy and have their own set of problems. So I get the answer that being rich is simply not the main solution and that money couldn't really buy happiness in a whim. Perhaps just to please someone, get whatever materialistic things that you want. But like you said, money cannot buy good physical health and good moral behavior. Love your answer, thank you ;)

I have never had a wish for great wealth and have no desire for the things it can buy. I would rather just have financial security. If I have enough money to pay my bills and living expenses, I am quite happy. If I had a lot of money I would need to think carefully how to spend it. I would want to do something good with it, and not just use it for selfish purposes.

Hi there, thanks for answering my discussion first of all. I support what you said. Should I have lots of money to spend like say in excess of a million and more, I would be dumb-founded and would be very confused in how to carefully spend it. The most that I have during a paid bonus is 6k and I spent it all in a whim. I regretted it now and should I have known it earlier, I would have saved it all. That was during my 3 years back on when I was a bit non too mature. If I have that kind of bonus pay-out now, I would definitely either invest a part of it, donate more and save more. Thanks for your answer, really appreciate it so much ;)

I wouldn't want to be rich. Though, if I were, I wouldn't know what to do with all of it and would probably end up donating it. I just want to be debt free, be able to support my family, and be able to have those little extras. Not too much more, and hopefully not too much less. = )

I think you are very spot-on and I like your answer very much. Thanks for your honest and concise answer. Come to think of it, I wouldn't want to be too rich as well, but rich is perhaps fine by me?? Not sure why, but I think I would be more secure with lots of money, but then again, I might "forget" being myself and tend to get big-headed in life. I think you sum up pretty well; as long as we are debt-free should be more than enough and to be able to support our family and living well with whatever added $$ that we might make in the process of living. Just nice, in the middle of things to be more grounded in life. Good answer there, truly appreciated ;)

That's great; I love traveling as well and would love to go long-distance riding, backpacking and many more adventure stuffs. I just love doing outdoor activities and this coming June, me and my friends plan to go skydiving somewhere. That's a whole load of fun. And yes, I agree that we need money to do all these hobbies and activities, and it would be a plus point to be rich in that sense.

Rich, the way I look at rich would be to have enough money each month to pay my bills on time and not be behind each month, to not have the shut off notices coming in. To be able to afford to go to the store and buy milk and bread when I need it, instead of having to wait till the first of the month to get more. To live in a nice place. And to afford to put gas in my truck when we need to go to the doctor. Gas here has raised to $3.80 as of yesterday. $20. got me a quarter of a tank. Rich is in the eye of the beholder, just to be able to live and afford what we need in life would be riches to me.

Thank you for your comments I agree with all you said, yes there are days that make me the richest person in the world and it is just being alive and knowing my god is there and he is watching over me, and he allowed me to live all this time after my heart attack. That is truly the richness in life we need.

That's great, bdugas. We are all here to make ends meet, so to speak and though there are some days that for instance myself struggle to pay off this and that, there are some days that I feel duly rich. And I'm really thankful to God for that. For giving me a sense of strength to go on everyday in this life, even if I'm left with a few pennies. The beauty of life that is and on some days, I truly feel very rich; not just in terms of money-wise like when I get my paycheck, but that's when I'm filled with great friends like you and the rest here in mylot and to spend quality time with my family. Most of my friends outside I don't get the chance to spend that much quality time unless we go riding and talk in coffee-house and stuff like that. Therefore, I love my "rich" life right now pretty much and will not trade it for anything else. Take care and thanks for your response. I just feel like rambling tonight, don't know why, ha!

In my early childhood that is my plan and dream to become rich, I always imagine that I have a special talents that could make me rich. But all of that imagination is not true and it never happened and It will never happen. Its so hard to become rich, some are just lucky at one blink of an eye they get rich dream come true just like that. Its not really a necessity in life but its just like a bonus like 13th month pay.

LOL bro, you have typed out a very honest and refreshing comment here and I like it pretty much. It is hard to be rich but some people do get lucky. I think it's best to just take things as it comes and if we become rich overnight, then it's great. If not, then it's best to just be an average Joe earning an average income. I'm more than happy as long as there's air to breathe and a bit of money to spend. -smiles- Have a great day and thanks for responding yeah.

What do you mean by 'rich?' In my view what people consider rich is very subjective. I am less concerned about money...and more concerned about the quality of life I have. When I am happy, content and living within my means in a balanced, happy and healthy way...I feel very rich...or my term is 'abundant.' With great wealth comes great responsibility...at this point in life I consider myself rich because I have a wonderful life and business partner whom I love so much...a livelihood that is 'richly' rewarding. I have a home that I love...in a community that supports who we are and what we do...1 dog, 5 cats and friends that add to the meaning of my life every day. I was raised to have an 'attitude of gratitude' for blessings great and small..and that works for me. So do I dream to be rich...not really...I already feel I am. Interesting topic... Raia

Hello there Raia. Mind me asking, what kind of business are you doing currently..? Just curious. Back to the topic. I totally agree that rich is subjective and there are other elements of richness that we can fil in our lives. I'm glad that you have found your 'richness' and I wish you happy for as long as you live. Thanks and take care...
