Ever have one of those days...

when getting out of bed seems like your first mistake? I swear, my foot hurts so bad (yes I'm going to the doctor later today) that don't know what to do. Its like part of the foot is numb, it only started 5 days ago, I'm not diabetic, and my foot has a swollen part to it. I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep last night and I realized that if my foot SUDDENLY started feeling this bad, I'd be on the floor in agony, but because I've "walked" it this bad, I'm still walking. I'm guessing my GP will be sending me to a specialist, he can deal with normal things, but he sent me for an x-ray already and that came back normal (I'm not surprised since I haven't DONE anything to it.) I wish I didn't have to get up and do anything, even driving hurts! So, while I hope you aren't having one of those days, do you know kind of what I'm talking about?

Yes, I know where you're coming from as I've been having the problem with my knee. It sounds to me as though you've possibly turned in bed awkwardly at some point and damaged a tendon, or something. I doubt that would be visible on an exray. Or alternatively, you could have a trapped nerve there. Brightest Blessings and I hope you feel better soon, my friend.

Thanks Darkwing. I just wish at this point I had a sit-down job again!

Oh boy, you stand on your feet all day? Well, you could very easily have injured yourself that way, without noticing, my friend.

Not all day, but not a data entry job like I used to have.

yes I have had one or two of these sorts of days recently. Everything I touch in the house is collapsing around my ears, so many things have broken and now need replacing. I am really fed up at the moment. Hope your foot gets better real soon

And did I mention that we have to buy a new toilet?

I don't think you did, anyway that is one thing that has not broken in the last few days

Yeah - he's sending me to a podiatrist - my appointment is on the 21st. I told the staff person I wasn't sure I could wait that long - but I can't do it any sooner.

I have those days quite often myself. Is there a possibility you got bit by a spider? Sorry I am late in responding here. I am behind on my discussions. I have not had one of those days in a couple of weeks and I feel so lucky. when it rains, it pours here with everything going wrong. I know exactly what you are talking about.

The foot doc thinks its a nerve problem, but she doesn't know where the problem is. It isn't in the back. Probably related to the numb place on my thigh too.

A couple weeks ago I had one like that. I got up and somehow managed to lock myself out of the bedroom. I knew right then and there it was gonna be one of those days. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have many of those days. I just pretend that they never happened! Have you thought maybe you could have a splinter, grass seed or some glass in your foot? glass doesn't show up on an x-ray. Hope it is all sorted out now and wasn't anything too serious.

Well, saw the foot doctor yesterday. She thinks its some sort of nerve problem - that was MY guess.... She's given me some Cymbalta to help deal with it, only taken one and it did seem some what better today - I have to say that this is related to what I was taking as part of the fibro study last year and it seems to be helping already. I'm actually pretty quick at responding to meds, unlike some people I know that respond slowly if at all. so, I'm sitting here looking at tonights pill just hoping I get a better night's sleep that last night1

OUCH, I've been lucky enough not to have anything really serious like that to happen to me. And considering how I reacted to the anesthesia for my surgery back in 98....

You could hve a spur in your foot...I have one in my heel and i hurts very bad sometimes, and i can hardly walk...I don't know what else it could be,but if it is a spur they do hurt...Sometimes they cna treat it and sometimes they have to be removed...

I had that too, when I had all those other foot problems. No, this is like its numb and its up around my toes that it started. the doctor say my circulation is good - I actually felt pins and needles when I inadvertally cut off the circulation later. Ya know, right now I'm sitting here and feeling a few tiny pin sticks, weird.

I hope it's not gout. Have you been eating a lot of rich, gourmnet foods lately? I think that is the cause of gout, I don't really know. Anyways, I've had a similar thing except in the knee and it came out it was a bulging disc in my back pressing on a nerve that lead straight to the knee and it caused inflamation. I know you must be in some awful agony. Do take care and keep that foot elevated as much as possible. Good luck with the doctor today, I hope they find the cause real soon.

Gout is caused by uric acid causing crystals in the joints (uric = urine). I don't eat a lot of rich food and this isn't in any of the "normal" places gout shows up. The doctor is going to send me to a specialist, big surprise, it could be any number of things, but it ISN'T a break or arthritis.
