Star value based on best responses?

Does this happen? I've gotten email notices lately that I've received best responses for a few topics, and my rating has gone up a bit. Does anyone know if this happens?

i do not have any paricular idea about it. for last few days i have git many. still my star is same(10) and the reputaion is not changed. its still at 97/100./ i think star depends on how you are rated + by others.

Well, you can't get any higher than 10, so that's a good rating for sure. I'm hoping to get a 10 star at some point. I've pretty much always been at 8 since this feature came out.
