For the upteenth time, my hubby and I have a small auto repair business. I don't understand how people can call mid afternoon on a friday and want work done. All I can say is good luck. Chances are you won't find anyone that isn't already tied up with appointments. The thing is, they not only wait till the last minute but they want to furnish their own parts. I can get past even that. What I won't do is only half way do the repairs needed. Let me explain. If you need your brake pads replaced, the rotors need to be turned. This is part of doing the job properly. It also will ensure that the brakes last longer, because they are done properly. And it's almost always someone willing to put thier young children in the car and go on a long trip. You aren't just putting you car at risk. You are putting yourself and your family at risk. You are also putting the other drivers on the road at risk. I'm sorry, it's less expensive for a brake job than it is for hospitals or coffins. It isn't like it's a radio problem, it's brakes!

I guess it boils down to priorities. I know I need a break, even a small camping trip would be wonderful. But if the car needs work I am taking a risk not only on making things worse, even breaking down or having an accident, but I am not willing to put my life at risk. I don't want to spend my down time in a hospital. I would much rather be at home.
