Are there people addicted to animals?

I used to have a friend who would get injured birds and other animals from the wild and treat them until they are able to go to the wild again, this was so unusal, ocnsidering that many of his peers were after these wild birds and animals to eat them up? Are there people addicted to animals?

I think its possible. I seem to be the one that people call when they want to get rid of their parakeets, fish etc. So far it has just been fish an parakeets and I was unable to say no. I dont know what I will do if its ever a cat or a dog. I love animals. My dog is treated as I treat my children. I buy him new Tshirts and treats just like I do my daughters. I just bought him a carriage especially for dogs so when we go to vacation I can take him with us and dont have to worry about carrying him. I guess I am addicted to my pets. As long as a person cares for them properly,can afford it, and maintains a clean and sanitary environment, Live and let live. DL

Wao that is very interesting-I am amazed at how kindly you treat your pets-imagine buying new Tshirts for your dogs? That just shows how much yu care thanks!

Thank you for choosing me for best response. Its nice to know someone is really listening to you. In our day to day lives it can become so monotonous that we seem to forget to acknowledge people or be acknowledged for the little contributions we give to friends, family, etc. It feels really good to know that at the end of the day, when I sit down and have time for myself, I am being rewarded. I think there are people who are addicted to animals and tend to have as many as they can. I am not addicted but I am not an animal-hater. I have some few animals in our place!

I am actually nearly phobic when it comes to animals-it is the reptiles that make almost jump out of my skin!

I'm not addicted to animals but I do love dogs. I know there are several people in the world who love animals and they will do anything to save or rescue them from harms way.
