I just love to cook and at am at my happiest when cooking for a large group of people, which rarely ever happens since my family and my husbands family all live away from us. I have to resort to cooking for two, which is okay but can be boring. Sometimes I think I should go down to the soup kitchen and apply for a job. Does anyoneone else here love to cook for alot of people?

I love cooking for a large group. I love to see everyone enjoying what I've put together. There's a certain satisfaction that comes from compliments when the food is good. Especially if they ask for more. I'll be cooking a large meal this coming weekend and am planning it right now. I know all the ingredients that I need and will buy them now. Some of the items will need to be prepared a couple days in advance. Happy cooking!

I love cooking for a lot of people too! I run a daycare so I rarely make one package or can of anything! There are five people in my family and usually one of the children has a friend over so I learned early on to make more than enough. I also tend to always make extra just in case someone drops in unexpectedly. You should think about cooking a large batch of your favorite dish and then freezing the smaller portions. I also love the soup kitchen idea! I'll bet they can use the help! Have you thought about volunteering at a local elementary or high school cafeteria? I know our school loves to have volunteers help out too.

I do make up larger pots of spaghetti sauce chili and soup when I make them, then freeze them up or give some to my father-in-law who lives alone. Maybe I should check on the places around here that might need some help, there is a High School, but I think they hire people rather than volunteers. thanks for the support.

When I was working, that was my job. I do like it. I really have trouble toning it down to feed 4. When we have get togethers, I usually do the cooking.

I can cook for alot of people but I sure hate to clean up all of the mess when all of them leave. I do not mind doing the cooking if I had help after everyone has eaten. The messes afterwards is what gets me LOL.

When I had all the kids at home, I used my crockpot (and I mean the very big one) quite a bit. I also made tons of soups and huge casseroles. I don't cook the same at all now that I'm cooking for three. I still cook every day, but it can get pretty boring if I don't make myself think about new stuff. It just was so much more fun to have these big pots cooking and having people eating all the time.

I agree cooking for a large group is usually more fun since there's more to do. I have 5 people in the family but for 1 big meal, it usually consists of 2-3 small meals. (Picky and spoiled family...LOL) But on holidays, when the extended family visits, then I get to cook a big meal. I enjoy it. Even though my feet are doggone tired by the afternoon.
