If they offer their hand I'll shake it, but I don't tend to offer mine - just don't. Guess its because that's what "grown ups" do and I don't feel like a grown up - go figure, I'm 54 yrs old....

Right after a job interview, I shake hands with the interviewer. I seldom do that when I'm just making friends.

usually i don't shake their hands. but if it's an important person or someone older than me, then i do out of respect. but usually, i just wave my hand for saying "hello".

Yes, I do shake hands. I think it's respectful too. I wonder if this custom is not as popular as it once was though with the younger generations.

I do sometimes. It all depends on the people and the situation. Soem people look at you weird here in the United States if a woman puts her hand out to shake someone elses hand. they look at me like I am a man or something. I would rather say, nice to meet you and give them a nod to be safe.

I tend to shake hands. It is just something that I have done. As I was groing up I was taught that shaking someones hand was a sign of respect.

yes I do... and even when shaking someones hand you must apply some pressure... PEople nowadays don't know how to shake hands anymore... they just hold hands for 2-3 seconds :) I'm not saying break the bones in their hand but at least shake their hand like you mean it!! :) In some countries thay also have the kissing on the cheek as a sign of greeting... Would you kiss a stranger you just met?? hmm...
