Avoiding commercials

Television commercials are annoying. In the past they were a nuisance we had to simply put up with as they would interrupt our TV shows, movies, comedies, and sitcoms. Sometimes we would leave the room or switch channels in desperation.

Now, in the digital age we needn't just 'deal', we have a choice. Video cards and PVR's let us cut past and edit out commercials out of the video stream.

Who records and cuts out commercials out of their TV shows some times, or all the time?

I have a DVR but it tapes the commericals . But to me that is a good thing.There are some commericals that I hate but there are others that I love. In fact I have 2 tapes that are filled with the commericals I love.

sometimes i think commercials are a pain in the butt. i could be watching a movie. i could get really into it. then a good part comes up,then they break. i hate it when that happens. now we dont have to worry about that anymore. technology has upgraded. we are able to watch a program with out the interruptions.

I wish I had a TiVo to cut out the commercials

TiVo doesn't allow fast forwarding of commercials anymore. You need a video card to do that now. You have to record the TV show.

Right now, I've been spending so much time online that I barely notice the commercials. My mind just shuts out the TV while they are on. When I'm not on the computer, I read books while I'm watching TV or I change the channel or do something else. Of course, when I record something, I fast forward right through them. I don't usually get annoyed by them unless they are the same commercial over and over or they are very long.

I don't because I don't watch television shows that much. I watch movies that I get from blockbuster a lot more than television. I have always enjoyed watching movies more than tv shows. I don't know why I just do. So it doesn't really bother me that much when I do watch television. Sometimes during a commercial I will get up and clean around the house sometimes. Or occasionally I will just put it on mute so I don't have to hear it.

One of my tricks is using the loo or getting a cuppa coffee during the coffee commercial! We all have such a short attention span in America it's sad!

I'm a Netflix junkie myself, and I use Netflix for TV series that come out on DVD to shortchange commercial pushers who pepper the dang shows.
