Tell me mylotters, I note everybody here believes in his/her God as the true one-I for one think MY God and My Jesus remain the only true faith-how do you arrive at this conviction? Mine is pure faith in my Christian God-what about you?

I believe that there is only One GOD. I am a Christian too and stand by my belief. However, I am not so narrow minded that I won't accept nor consider what others call their GOD. There is only one GOD and he may be called by different names but in essence, it's HIM. As what GOD said when Moses asked him what is His name and He replied, I AM WHO I AM. He isn't so big on names either, what is important is that we recognize One True God. Is there such a thing as true religion? Religion is man's search for God. Each religion have different practices but they also worship the One God who is most powerful. I could compare religion to transportation. All of us are going to one destination and that is Heaven, but how we go there, there are different ways. If heaven is a place on earth, one could take the Bus or Jeepney or plane or just walk to get there. So each religion could be represented by the type of transportation that each one decides to take but all of them leads to God and to Heaven.

Thanks alot cd..it is good to be flexible here without compromising your own belief, I used to Know of a Pentecostal neighbour who treat Catholics and Anglicans like some kind of pagans!

Well, there are actually polytheistic beliefs too. They believe in multiple Gods.

my particular faith involves many gods.. not just the one. im not a christian. was born and raised one tho.. but had the extreme sense even as a child, that things just didnt fit.. ive never much been one to follow without question, beleive what im told by others or depend on anothers ideas and oppinions that are laid within the text of a book. i like to make up my own mind. so i started my own personal quest to seek my own and followed my heart and instincts elsewhere. my own personal "truth" and steadfast faith, stems from my own experiences, things "proven" as it were, to me personally.

I dont feel its a matter of deciding whether or not its "true"...I could care less if its "true" for anyone else..and it shouldnt be right for anyone else since being spiritual or religious is a personal thing...I know that my path is right for me because its been with me my entire life..

Hi tigerdragon, you are right-but as you can see, the responses are very balanced, no one is trying to be insenitive here! But thanks indeed for you caution-well, there are also typos in the topic itself, but am glad members have understood what I meant exactly!

Religion is a tough one. As you said, everyone believes that theirs is the right one. For me, I believe in a loving God. I was raised catholic, my ex-husband was pentecostal (big difference there). These two religions are very different. I liked going to my in laws church. I liked the up beat music and the everyone is welcome attitude. In my church, everything was low key, private, and slow. I liked what the catholic church stands for to a point. Although the hype within the priest hood had me confused for a while. My inlaws dont believe in smoking, dancing, and they tried to scare my children into church. Thats when I did some heavy thinking and research and came to a decision. I decided that no matter who you call GOD, he represents purity, hope, goodness, selflessness, friendship, honor, and most importantly love. I dont believe any GOD would put millions of people on the earth to hate each other because of music, color, money, etc. I teach my children to believe in a GOD of love and friendship. Someone who teaches us to help one another and do the right thing. The problem is every one is looking for the same qualities its just the manner in which they search for them that's different. I take what I need and leave the rest. I will back my children to represent a GOD of their choice. No matter what or who they call him. GOD Bless. dl

I don't happen to be religious at all. I used to be a Christian but after some studies of the bible, history and science, I found the Christian doctrine to contradict the words of the bible. I have asked the same questions many times in the past, it just so happens that none have been able to provide any evidence that their version of the god's is the one version. Apparently, there are none that have any evidence to support any God. I found that we can produce much evidence to logically, and historically prove there is no god. i found tons of examples of how the christian doctrine is much different that the words of the bible or what christians want others to believe the bible states. Far, Far different. It appears they don't actually read it to understand but only for making excuses. I just started my discussion and am new to this forum. not sure how it all works but plan to discuss more detail into the contradictions of the christian words and the bible. i find it rather interesting but it appears i upset christians when i expose these truths. peace to all

Welcome to mylot beijair-you must be living in a country like mine where there is freedom of worship-on matters of my faith, I have I have chosen not to question anything-because, spiritual issues are too complex to attract a sustainable critique-I know in my heart that the God i believe in is My true God-I dont demean the God others believe in because, just like i found myself beleiveing in my God, they too did the same-who am i to say theirs is a Lesser God!

I just go with what I was taught when I was growing up. I really do not dwell on it though. I do keep an open mind to any and all things. I was brought up as a baptist or christian also and I do believe in god also.

Very positive attitude to religious faith-it makes the world great to live in if everyone treated religion like you do. Thanks!
