I agree with this and I remember how me use to imitate our teacher and do the counting every time she will use the work"isn't it"?Its funny and annoying sometimes but, this is very common i guess to all, for me, I used to repeat and repeat, "basically" and "ok" when I am talking in person. I wanted to stop overusing such word but I just can't. Been a part of me!

True and it's annoying that my friend will tell me and remind me all the time!Anyway, I do know if I will get rid of this, It's like that it's already part of my system!

you know it can be so easy and sometimes unconscious when we start these mannerisms but it will take an effort and some determination and consciousness to sto them

yes it can be a little hard to stop but not impossible, most times youmay not even be aware that you overuse these phrases or words until someone points it ut to you at that point it becomes irritating.

I normally say things like "You know what I'm saying" normally as a statement sometimes as a question. Also things like calling people buddy or guy.

Ya I know some people like that, I was one myself but it's a nasty habit one needs to drop. I have a son so I try my best to watch at all times what comes out of my mouth, as he doesn't need to be taught how to be vulgar from me ... he will see too much of that on television and in movies.

LOL1my husband and i had this comversation just last night! He always picks up on those in peoples speech. Our neighbor can hardly finish a sectence wihtout saying "yadda yadda yadda." My husband says " you know what I mean?" And i've been know to frequantly say "In all honesty." before starting any story. IT's so cool to notice these things in people. We had an art teacher that had to follow almost everything she said with "On it." We use to keep a tally of how many times she said it in class, i think the highest we got up to was 48...

Yeah. I usually say something and then right behind it, I usually say, it drives me nuts, LOL. I usually talk about something that gets on my nerves and always say what I mentioned above.
