It seems that a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic has caused quite a stir by calling Ohio's Governor, Ted Strickland, "stupid." A nationally known Cleveland Clinic wellness expert says Governor Strickland is "stupid" for raiding the state's tobacco settlement fund. Dr. Michael Roizen said: "Our stupid governor! He either is stupid or he has very bad advisers" during a speech last night at Case Western Reserve University. Roizen was referring to the governor's decision to take 230 million dollars designated for anti-tobacco programs to fund a jobs bill. Strickland spokesman Keith Dailey says the governor is reserving 40 million dollars for the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation. Clinic spokeswoman Eileen Sheil says hospital officials support the governor's effort to create jobs. It doesn't make sense to me that this doctor would so blatantly issue such a provocative statement like this. Do you think there should be any repercussions regarding this matter? I do. He should be ordered to make an apology to the governor. There is a right way and a wrong way to voice your disapproval.

Yes. He could have used different words to express the way he feels about the man. I think he should apologise also for calling the guy stupid. The guy may not be stupid and it was just a word used out of anger but he deserves an apology.

Your right there is a professional way and an unprofessional way but I heard a lot worse in elections, mud smearing, character bashing etc, it is like a freak show or three ringed circus most of the time.

Oh, I'm sure the doctor was very upset about the governor's decision. And he may have had a very bad day. HOWEVER, I'm sure as an educated man, he could have worded his disapproval in terms that weren't as inflammatory. If he thought about it, and he probably didn't. In a roundabout way, the job bills will hopefully give Ohio some relief from their high unemployment - more jobs, more people with health benefits to receive care at the Cleveland clinic. An apology is in order, probably may be a mandatory one.

yes i agree! it is not proper to address any people specially politicians to call them stupid infront of other people because it can create dispute to others also down the reputation of the governor. she can tell that words in private both the doctor and the governor are only around that no one hears. The doctor should apologize the governor to restore the governor's reputation to the public.
