so,most of us in the us are getting a check for our government next month,as an economic incentive.
feh.but anyway..
this month alone already i've fixed the shower, and replaced the chimney/flue AND furnace.
you'd THINK the house would be happy.
oh no.
wake up to use the bathroom.
squish.
aw man,what NOW!?
sink decided to break a seal/washer underneath the faucet, and had been leaking while i was sleeping.
had fun swabbing water off the 1st and 2nd floor.
so,my question is this:
have you ever noticed when you for once, might have an extra dollar or two, your home seems to know, and decides to break something?
or do i just have an evil house? LOL :)

We don't own a house yet so I have no experience with that but I know our vehicles can smell money LOL...We got our regular refund and sure enough his truck just can not seem to behave...gas lines, brake lines, now the tank itself sprung a leak. My car is alright so far but is having problems with the clutch and we don't know what it's going to take to fix that. Our oldest managed to make over $900 in 8 days...within 3 days it was gone because his truck and car decided to act up. Now neither will run and he's broke because he can't do his big money job without his truck and his other job barely pays for gas in his grandparents van that he has to borrow.

s/o's line about the vehicles is "I'll just roll it down the hill and burn it!" of course he never has actually done that...unless you count his old truck that also sprung a gas leak and did catch fire while going down the road...he put it out though and kept driving it.

LOL, tell me about it, scarlet_woman!! There's always something to be repaired in my home as well and that tends to happen whenever I am approaching my salary period.
. However, the 2nd thing that tends to always be "needing my money" would be my bike, and there are always things that I need to modify and stuff like that. Perhaps my bike and my home have the same mindset to finish the money of their owner. I have evil bike and home just like you, -winks-.

my bike actually behaves itself most of the time

fortunately, my house doesn't seem to smell money yet... but my health is... i had been spending almost $1,000 on my medical bills for the past two months after i had been admitted to the hospital in february this year... i can relate to what you say... whenever i have extra money, somethings always happen and the money is gone in a second... last year, my hubby has a car accident and we have to pay the excess of $500 to the insurance company... so me and my hubby can never really have lots of savings in our account... we always use it up for some unexpected events...

medical bills eat it up even faster than homes, sometimes.i definetly agree with that.

Lol, not just my house. My car smells it too. The last couple of weeks have been kind of bad. My husband's van needed repairs, then I had to have a root canal and will need a crown, and my car needs a repair too. When it rains it pours.

Oh yes! We rent and are still responsible for nearly
100% of the maintenance of the house.
If we ask the landlord, he will gladly fix the problem and
then hike our rent for bothering him!

you should see the beauty of a landlord we have near us.he waits until the tenants fix something, says "that looks nice" then kicks them out and raises the rent.
i've heard many a leaving tenant say that.
i've gotten to the point where if i see somebody moving in,i tell them don't fix nothing.

You are so right here. We own a Condo, and it seems like when something breaks, a lot of things end up also breaking down as well to where you have to keep on investing a lot of money always fixing something. We own a Condo and a couple of yrs. back first it was our washer that went out, and then our dishwasher. Right now we need to redo our bathroom sink and our Garbage disposal. We really probably need a new toilet as well and might really consider it as we want to list our Condo for sale if possible in the next yr. or earlier. We found a place we really want to buy. Just needing to find a way to get it.

Hi scarlet_woman! I have experienced the same thing a number of times already. And it really took out the fun of receiving some extra money. There I was holding that extra money, thinking of shopping and filling the cupboard and freezer with food, then all of a sudden, the house needs some repairs, the roof is leaking or the faucet decided to break.
However, I look at it this way now, I am very thankful that I have received some extra money just in time for some unexpected expenditures that we are not quite prepared for. But honestly, at the back of my mind...it's no fair, no fun!
Just my thoughts dear friend! Take care and have a nice day.
