started to be written out, I am anxious for them to come so I can pay them off. Now one already has a credit balance and I do not worry about it, but one does need paying. So for all you credit card users, do you wait for the statement and then pay, do you pay as you go, or do you pay after you decided 'no more charges for this month?" Our statement usually comes two weeks before it is due and by that time, I am getting ready to take out my checkbook and go down to the store where I have my credit account and pay it off then and there.

I go on the internet and check the statement and as soon as the statement for that month comes in, I will pay the amount even if the statement has not come in the mail because you do not know if they will have a mail strike and the statement will show up after the payment is due and you will get charged interest.

I haven't had a credit card in years. And I have no cash, so I just don't buy, I wish I had a credit card for emergencies but nobody will give me one. It is terrible.

I think the only reason I got one was because I have a husband. I sure do not make enough money to qualify on my own.

With my credit cards I wait until I get the statement for most of them and just pay it when I get that so they get their money in time. As for the others I usually go online at the same time each month and pay them early. I have to work it this way because of the way that I get paid each month. Unfortunatly I had some bad luck and now carry a balance but would love to be able to pay them off instead of just making a payment. I do pay more than what is requested each time though.

That sounds like me in the late 1999s when I was working as a telemarketer and then everyone started to get laid off. I had a hard time getting that paid. So after that, for a time, I was putting an item on my credit card, and then gong to the bank the same day and paying it off. I then decided to have enough money and not charge anything unless I could pay it off.

I hate credit card debt. I only charge things on it if I have to. I always try to pay my balance off each month also. I hate the fees they add in there and the interest they add onto it. There have been times though, that it took me a few months to pay it back off and I hates it but I had no other money to give them on it.

I use my credit card all the time and I pay if off before I get the statement in the mail. I do not like the interest charges nor do I like it when I transferred money from my credit card to my checking account and they charged $2.50 for well it was not much over that. I put the money back in, but there was something I needed and could not afford. So for a while I was broke and very angry.

I wait for my statments and then I wait until just about the last possible time I can pay without penalty. I don't know why I have to hang onto that money that way, but I do. I would hate to have to go down to the store and pay though - I guess I think it's a major inconvenience. I still mail some bills, but with the postage going up, I'm turning to the phone and online more and more.

I usually pay as soon as the statement appears online, but then I figure that why not wait until the statement appears in the mail? I do have a two weeks before the payment becomes due after that and it might prevent me from charging things for the next statement immediately. I can easily walk to the store since I do love window shopping and although I can pay my bank visa online, I have not transferred my store mastercard since I do like seeing what else there is in the store. I never mail my bills. We usually go to the Mall or to the place to pay them as it is a good excuse to get out of the house.

I pay before I get the credit card statement. I sort of love the points I get. Right now I am saving for either a piano keyboard or a deep frying like they show on Iron Chef America, and it depends on what comes first. I also like credit cards because I can also see it online and I know where my money goes. Whereas if I have cash in my pocket, I am more apt to send it.

I pay all my monthly bills on the due date with the exception of my credit cards these I pay on 2 to 3 days before the due date because if something happens and you are one day late they charge an outrageous late fee. The reason I do not pay as soon as I have the cash on hand is because I refuse to let any company use my money interest free for the few days until it is actually due. Just think how much money that adds up to if everyone pays before it is due!

We pay our utility bills at the Mall. My husband does not use his credit card, but pays for debit (now no charges if you are over a certain age). I pay my credit card before getting the credit card statement. It comes two weeks before it is due. That is the one that I get points on. The other one I have a credit balance as I was tricked into one of those credit protection schemes and they charge you a fee unless you already have money on your credit card to pay for it -sort of like a debit. I do not like carrying that much money on me, just in case I get robbed. I can always call the credit card companies, but the money well I cannot prove what is mine when I go to the police station after they caught the crook.

Hubby and I both been that route with credit cards and vowed never again. The horror of having all those bills to pay was putting alot of stress on our marriage. So now, if we don't have the money, we don't buy it till we do.

I still have my credit cards, but I always pay off the full balance. I find it easier to keep records, and know where the money goes. Don't like those little receipts and sometimes the ink is not as clear. I usually save for stuff, and then transfer the money into my credit card account and then charge it. That way I get the best of both worlds. I was able to get some interest in my savings, and when I charged the item was able to get the points and or the dividends.

The ones that I am carrying a balance on (too many at this point sadly) I pay via internet as soon as the statement comes out, long before I even see one in print. This gets it paid and is always saves on finance charges in the long run. In general I guess it's safe to say that I wait for the statement to generate online, because of the grace period it's not like there is a finance charge anyways, and I have all my bills on such a lock down via quicken, I can't remember the last time I missed a payment.

I get my statement on the internet, but I go down to the store to pay it and the other one has a negative balance so do not bother to pay that. The latter is for my cell phone and I want to be prepared in case I feel like talking a lot or make lots of long distance phone calls. When I get my statements in the mail, then the bills have already been paid so I have no worries.

I don't have any credit cards at all but if I did I think I would clear the balance every month so not to incur any interest. Ellie :D

That is the best way to do it. I found that with credit cards, you have a balance and it adds up and usually it is the worse when there is something you need. I have one credit card where I have a negative balance. I have been trying to get that consumer protection off that card, but have not found how to do it. I really would rather that money be in my savings instead of on the card. The other one I pay off before I get the statements. I have to buy something for this month.
