I personally love the Waltzer but not much else even though this week I was dragged onto most rides with my son, there was one that was like a sideways big wheel, I was terrified and just wanted to get off and I will never go on it again either. I'm at the age now where the carosel is fine by me. What is your favourite ride and why or do you not like fairground rides at all? Please share. Ellie :D

I love the long....long bouncy slide that seems to bounce forever! I do miss going on rides before my health and budget gave out! I now must content myself to surfing the Internet.

hi ellie-i love fairs and i like the big wheel the most its just being able to see all that is going on around you-i find that is the best-the bumper cars i like too and find it fun bumping into people but it is always too short a ride-really am not interested in anything else like you am getting older know and hate all these fast rides they have
could never go on any of those-

hi ellie sorry to hear that you hurt your back on the bumper cars-but i do agree with you about going on the swings with my grandson i love it-plus it gives you a lot of exercise as it works all the muscles in your body-well most of them i did lose a few needed inches off my thighs and tum on the swings

when I was young the scarier ride the better for me. I tried it all, but now I can't even thing of getting onto anything without being afraid.
There was a ride called the salt and pepper shaker that was about the scariest thing for me, you tipped upside down and inside out almost. It was not a ride for anyone with a weak stomach.

i always trip out on rollercoasters. i can't wait for my daughter to grow up, she's 1 yr old, so we can have fun on rides together. right now, it's only the carousel for us. sometimes i take her on bump cars but i drive away from the crowd. i also give the evil eye to those who bump our ride. yes, i know that's the purpose of that ride but my daughter doesn't enjoy it. she just likes to dirve around fast and not get bumped at all.

She'll be grown soon enough it seems like only yesterday that mine were going on the little kiddies roundabouts and now they want the rollercoasters! The one my son got me on the other day I just wanted to get off. I was screaming and he was laughing. I still enjoy the calmer rides though. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D

God I can't remember the name of it, but it was awesome. It's shaped like a swing and about 10 - 20 people can sit on the "swings seat" and the swing just turns you upside down and eveything starts spinning, god, good old times.

i like to be sit or lie still to read books, watch movies and enjoy music. and last sunday, it suddenly came to my mind that i want to learn dances. so i went to the bookstore, try to find some books which have a video, to my dismay, i can only found one, latin dances. maybe i went to the wrong bookshop. anyhow i bought that and started to learn in the evening, only to find that it's too difficult for me

You got that right. My life is nothing but a roller coaster. Some parts of the ride are up high and some low. Some part are fast and others slow. I used to love to ride rides at the fairgrounds but it makes me sick to my stomach anymore. I like to ride in the boats that go inside buildings where you can see cool things.

Oh that is a shame I can't go on bumper cars for the same reason. The last time I went on them it put my back out and I had to be lifted out of the car as my legs went numb, never again. I prefer tamer rides these days but have fon memories as a teenager of when the fair was in town. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D

I was always a big fan of the Musical Express. It was a ride my Mom and I would ride together. It would go forward than backwards. And when it went backwards, my Mom would tease me because she would always "squeeze" me in the speed.
I guess it was more the bonding time with my Mom than the ride itself. But it was the only ride we went on together.
Since my Mom's been sick, she can no longer go on the rides, and amusement parks hasn't been the same since. Sure I enjoy going from time to time, but it will never top the memories I had with my Mom.
And you're right, life is like a roller coaster with its ups and downs, you'll never know when it will stop!
