I had a brilliant afternoon today, my hubby decided we would go to McDonalds for our tea as we had not been since about August last year, so you can imagine that it was a real treat. We went and I had a big mac and fries which was absolutely fantastic, and must have been good because I ate the whole lot, which I do not normally do, and had ice cream as well, gorgeous!!! They had a monopoly promotion on, and when you get the meal you peel off these little sticker things on the sides of the drinks and the fries and you can win prizes, and I peeled mine off and I won a prize!! "What did you win?" I hear you ask. Well, I won a Big Mac!!! Oh ok I know, it is not much, but for somebody who never wins anything, this was a really big deal for me, and I even told the whole restaurant too! So, my lovely friends out in myLot land, have you ever won anything really silly and little, that meant nothing to anyone else but actually meant the world to you?

Well..a winner..what more can I say Rose!!!..but well done... Did you get any of those free toys??..they at some point used to give away free little toys..and I thought that they were luverly!!! But theres a question to be answered here...what did you do with the Big mac that you won??????...if you had already had your meal...or am i just being pain daft as usual!! I have an experience to share with you..yep...well...we were out for a drive..the three of us..me..hubby and the dog...well we stopped in a garage to get some `goodies`....I cant live without my goodies...we included a packet of crispa each for good measure...well that was the time when Walkers had there promotion on...you may have a `note` of some denomination in your crisp bag.... Well mine and hubbies..they had nothing..then we opened our little dogs bag for him..chicken flavoured...and blimey lol he ha won a fiver!!!! Well we asked him what he would like to spend it on...and he very kindly paid for the fish and chips for tea!!!...thats perfectly true!!...but ive not won anything since.....

Your story brought back alot of memories for me Gemini. When I was a little girl I grew up in a family of 5 girls and 1 boy. It was expensive to take us to McDonalds, but its usually where we would stop when we were traveling. When we went to England the only McDonalds was miles away, but the few times we were in the area visiting McDonalds was a HUGE treat. I remember how delicious it tasted. I also remember in later years playing the Monopoly game and winning free drinks or free Big Macs

Gosh you are a big family! To be honest, with having four kids, us going to mcdonalds is a huge treat too, it is perhaps a good job though because if I could afford to go more I would probably go everyday!!

I won a ice cream myself one year when they had the monopoly scratch offs at Mcdonald's. It wasn't much but like you I was glad I won it and it tasted really good for a freebie.

I've won stuff from there many years ago. usually I end up losing the little pieces though :( but not long ago Wynonna Judd (the country singer) came to my town for a concert at a local ski resort here. well I signed up to win tickets online from one of our local news stations and I was actually called and told I had won 2 tickets to the concert. I was sooooo excited, but didn't realize I'd be busy the night of the show :( I called my sister and offered her the 2 tickets for her and her hubby to go instead, they told me they would go then after the concert they told me they decided not to.. I was so upset, I could have offered them to someone else had I known that.. oh well, maybe one day I'll win something else...and if I can't use it I know not to give it to my sis! lol

One time I entereda drawing to win a bbq grill. I was the last one to enter and i watched as they mixed all the name up. I figured mine was probably lost. I was so surprised when they called my name. It meant a lot to me . I got the gas grill. 5 bottles of butane, and all the utensils to use with it. It was great.. Congrats on your win. I woulda been happy too.

Congratulations on your win gemini! Always a good feeling to win anything at all. No matter how small. Over the years I have won plenty of prizes. As a teenager I won a copy of a book in a competition on a cereal packet. 30 years later and I still have the book somewhere One of my workplaces used to run a sweepstakes every week. $1 per ticket. Anyway, the guy organising it kept pestering me to buy a ticket so I finally bought one ticket... Lo and behold, I got first prize which was a cordless drill. It was only one week before my husbands birthday so I gave it to him for his birthday. The guy who organised the sweepstakes was peeved that I won the very first time I entered. Another workplace ran a lotto syndicate. Same deal, constantly hassling me to join so I purchased a ticket one week and won $25. The last two years at my work where I am a checkout operator in a grocery store I have been 'mystery shopped' 7 times... I should explain what mystery shopping is here, mystery shoppers are anonymous shoppers who come in and check the level of service provided and score you on it. Anyway, my past 7 mystery shoppers have all given me a 100% score... several of those times I've been given a small box of chocolates to thank me for my efforts. So yeah, always a great feeling to win something... no matter how small

Whoohoo! Congrats on the win! I guess I look at it this way. You won something and that's always totally cool in my book, no matter how big or small the prize. I probably would have been whooping it up winning a sandwich too. :-) I have the best memories from childhood too, going to McD's every time they had one of those contests going. I think I remember winning a couple sandwiches and drinks a couple times. Nothing tastes better than free food, eh? lol

You mean you had to go to McDonald's to validate that you are a winner? I'll bet your hubby tells you that all the time. Congrats, though! I like winning things, no matter how small.

I have won some free value meal from monoply at McDonalds before and hey they mean alot to me that is money I won't have to spend. I won a 3 foot sandwhich from Subway once too! I used it for a family get together. My cousin won a trip to disneyland and took me with so you could say I ended up on the winning end of that one!

Yes! I have! When I was in elementary school, I wanted to win this photo contest that we were having so bad! We were supposed to take pictures of beautiful scenery, and polluted scenery. I ended up taking a picture of the Susquehanna River during sunset. I won! I was so excited, and I got a 35MM camera (not great but I was young so it didn't matter!). Ever since then I can't stop taking pictures of things.

Well done you! My kids were staying with my sister at the beginning of that promotion and my sister won a Big Mac - she gave the sticker to my son who promptly got it there and then - even though he had just had a big mac meal - teenagers stomachs really are bottomless pits aren't they? lol xxxx

I've won an ice cream cone and breakfast sandwiches from that. The thing that i won one time that thrilled me the most was i was 20 and i had just moved out into my own place for university and i needed dishes and stuff so i was going to go to the thrift store and see what i could pick up for really cheap to make do til i had money before i left home to my new place. just before i was going to leave the local grocery store called and said i had won their door prize and needed to pick it up...i went to get it and omg i was thrilled it was a set of pots and pans.

Congradulations on your BIG MAC win!!!A prize is a prize...In recent years at Mcdonalds I have won a free drink,Big Mac,ect...Each win no matter how little brought a smile to my face..My husbands brother a few years ago won a brand new car from McDonalds when the monopoly game was going!
21 Apr 08
LOL Congrats on your win!! It doesnt matter how small the prize, its always nice to get something for free. I won a can of beans at a raffles years ago.. i didnt notice what i'd won at the time, but when they shouted out my number, i shouted for joy lol!! I looked a fool.. but i was still impressed that i had won something!!
