What was your mother doing when she was your age?

When my mother was my age she was married and had two kids me and my brother. I was two years old and she had gone back to work as a teacher.
Do you know what was going on with your mom when she was your age? Do you think you are better off than she was at your age?

I'm 43 now and I think by this age, she already got all of us...her five children. I married a little late that's why I've got only a child. I don;t think I am better than her because marrying both early and late has it's advantages and disadvantages. I think life happens as it is.

When my mom was my age, she had 3 daughters and was in the middle of divorcing my dad. Fun times... I'm in a totally different situation thank heavens.

My mom had two adult children in college. One was just finishing up his schooling in Phoenix and lived on his own. The other (me), was at home almost through with community college. She had been divorced about ten years and I believe had a regular boyfriend at the time. But, she often worked long hours. When she was at home, she expected her daughter to drop her studies to do housework.
I don't know if I'm better off than she was or not because I've lived a totally different life than she did. She was married and had children right out of high school while I both never married and never had children. So, I can't say if either life is better because I have no experience with her type of life at all. I know that I have no regrets about how I have lived up to now.
